Cross-Buy Coming to Xbox One and Windows 10

4.6
During a panel at GDC, Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer gave another glimpse on the future of Microsoft’s platforms.
Spencer mentioned that a cross-buy option will be implemented in Microsoft’s storefront, enabling gamers to purchase a game with both a Windows 10 and Xbox One version, and to play it on both platforms without an additional expense, pretty much like the feature available on the PSN for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita and on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux.
The option will not be mandatory, meaning that developers will be the ones to ultimately decide on whether games will be cross-buy or will have to be purchased separately on each platform.
Basically, we’ll get more bang for our buck, and that’s always a great thing to hear. Hopefully the option will be widely adopted by developers.

Im not going to be using this either, I also agree this looks cool

This sounds like a good idea but most people wither stick to playing games on their console or on their computer, usually not both.

Not sure developers would be keen on this.. losing profits and the credit will go to Microsoft, not them

Parcool This is a cool option i hope most developers use it

Would be nice to see some AAA titles doing this.

Yeah, I'd really like to see some Cods come into play.

he only way they are gonna make this profitable is by making these games available exclusively in their own store. I don't have a problem with that as long as it works well, but on the other hand if the store sells games at purely console prices with no discounts and good deals like bundles, it won't be very competitive.

the thing is since the game owners have the right to chose if they want to do this; this will fail. hmmm what do people think they will do? give away the game for both....or try to make more $.
