Xbox 360 gets Preview program; can now reserve XboxOne Games with Gold

Microsoft has just launched a few new goodies for Xbox 360 owners after neglecting them following the Xbox One launch. First off, it's launching an Xbox 360 preview program, which "will work much like the Xbox One preview," according to Microsoft's Larry Hryb (Major Nelson). It will only be available to "select invitees" to start with, likely the most avid users. The first release will include a connectivity test to address "common network issues," with more changes coming later in the year. If you're in, you should see an email invitation soon.

Microsoft also launched a new section on the Xbox 360 console that will make it easier for users to add Xbox One games to their library prior to buying the next-gen console. Certain titles in the "Games for Gold" program are now marked as "free on Xbox One" directly in the console, rather than just on the web, as before. If you have an Xbox Gold subscription and a last-gen console, you should be able to check out the new feature now -- see the video below for more info.

Inq XBL messaged me saying that I can download the preview thing on the 360 and I think this is really cool what there doing and personally I love it.

I got that same message. Thought it was for the One so I was kind of disappointed.

Maybe they're doing this just for show? There's really no point of a preview program for the 360.

Radian I'm glad I decided to keep my 360. The Games with Gold incentive has exceeded its value. I have tons of games I've never played before but always wanted to thanks to it and the best part is they're yours to keep if your Gold membership expires.

You know that PSN started this feature, right? Because all of the Xbox users are saying how Microsoft are amazing for doing so, but the only reason they did was to keep up with Playstation.

Nobody cares what they started.

Pity That is good for 360 users I guess. The games aren't that good in my opinion.

Radian I'm glad I decided to keep my 360. The Games with Gold incentive has exceeded its value. I have tons of games I've never played before but always wanted to thanks to it and the best part is they're yours to keep if your Gold membership expires.
