Microsoft Store lists The Elder Scrolls Online for February 24 release

The Microsoft Store has The Elder Scrolls Online down for a February 24 release on Xbox One.

The listing, noticed by Massively, could be a placeholder, but it is rather specific – and on a Tuesday which is when 99% of games are released in North America.

TESO was originally slated to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in April 2014 alongside the desktop versions.

It was delayed to June 2014 before being pushed into late 2014.

Back in December, game director Matt Firor said the team at ZeniMax Onine was “steadily working” on the console version which was in a “playable and fun” state at the studio.

“There’s still some work to do before we can set an official launch date,” wrote Firor in the director’s letter.

In the letter he reiterated that the console versions of ESO were “not just ports” of the PC and Mac MMO, and that the PC user interface has been replaced with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with “a controller and a living room play experience in mind.”

The MMO was recently pulled from EB Games shelves in Australia.

Apparently this game is going to be free instead of monthly subscription?

SkittlePosted:

So they are listing a game but there is speculation whether or not it will actually be released?

So this game is a one time payment now or is it still $15 a month on console? I absolutely hate subscription based MMOs and unfortunately that's how most of them are.

Znait MMO's on console are a sure way to fail. Keep MMO's on PC and if you need to make a 2-4 player co-op option for the next TES or Fallout game.

Although this is somewhat true, I thought TES Online was a fail and completely wasn't designed to it's full potential.

Hova The only way they can make some more money from this game is to announce ahead of time console versions will be f2p. They would then be able to sell enough copies to make a good amount of money, even a great amount. But only if they go f2p

I agree if it is not f2p I will be very upset.

If it's f2p, how would they make more money off of it than charging? o.O
