Halo: The Master Chief Collection matchmaking patch due this week

4.7
343 Industries, the studio behind Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be releasing a new patch this week to improve some matchmaking issues.

There have been multiple patches since the launch of the game on November 11, hopefully this one resolves the remaining issues.

The announcement was posted on the Halo Waypoint site:

"The team continues development and testing of upcoming content updates, the next of which will specifically make improvements to the matchmaking system and flow."

"This particular update is on track for delivery this week. We will provide more details on the exact ETA, included fixes, and additional upcoming content updates in the near future. Please stay tuned to this thread for more details."

UPDATE:

Patch notes for update:
  • Made a change to allow for matches to start once minimum player counts are met, allowing for faster matching times.
  • Made an update to resolve issues that caused false matches to be created, which resulted in a variety of matchmaking issues, including slow matchmaking and bad session starts.
  • Streamlined the process for maintaining party continuity through the matchmaking process.
  • Made an update to the high-level matchmaking flow that will reset lobbies after each match. Moving forward, players and party leaders need to press "B" after the post-game-carnage report, and select a playlist for their next match. This flow is consistent with previous Halo titles.
  • Improved user experience through removal of non-actionable error messages. This will allow for a more seamless matchmaking flow with less interruption and confusion.
  • Improved the post-game experience to fix an issue that could result in a player getting sent to another player’s lobby, rather than returning to the matchmaking screen.

I really want this game, re-playing through all of those campaigns again would be fun.

Haven't tried multi-player on my Xbox yet because of the issues I've noticed whilst playing it at a friend place, but I hope this does indeed fix it that way I can play it on my account without raging.

FInally now I can find a match

It's a shame that in one week this game has been out for a month, and they are still having problems. It takes forever to find one match, and the co-op campaigns are buggy at best. The only things that seem to work is campaign and custom games.

thank god, it takes forever to find a match!

Horizex Lmfao this patch isn't going to do anything like the previous ones it's time to give up on 343i they will never live up to what bungie had originally created all they are doing is butchering the halo series

I have actually heard that it is running pretty smoothly for a number of people. I don't know about everyone, but it is a lot better than it was. According to Stallion (million gamerscore guy), he Tweeted that his Halo ran perfectly earlier. Not sure if this update is out yet, but it is getting better either way.
