Steam Broadcasting now in beta

4.7
Starting today on Steam, users can watch their friends play games through the new Steam Broadcasting feature that is now in beta.

Steam users can watch their friends play by clicking on "Watch Game" on their profile or via their Friend's list.

On the Steam Broadcasting page it states that both you and your friend need to opt into the Steam Client Beta.

To try out Broadcasting now, both you and your friends need to opt into the Steam Client Beta. In the Steam client main menu, select Settings > Account and change your "Beta Participation" to "Steam Beta Update".

You can head over to the Steam Broadcasting page for more information.

xByNovaa Nothing will beat Twitch, but nice try GabeN

I don't know that they're trying to beat Twitch, because it would only be Steam games. I like the idea, I would like it more if it streamed directly to Twitch though.

Arbok So someone could watch what game im playing?? Kinda weird . I hope there is a way to edit this option so you could have more privacy.

I'm sure you probably will have to have this feature enabled, similar to Twitch.tv

They wouldn't just allow your friends to randomly start watching you.

I would really like to see this actually. Although It won't be outstanding quality, it might be decent though.

Just have to wait and see :)
