Apple changes 'free' button to 'get'

4.3
The Apple iTunes and Mac App Stores have converted from labeling games with in-app purchases as "free," instead inviting you to "get" them. As TechCrunch reports, this follows a similar change by Google under pressure from the European Commission.

There is an odd inconsistency to the change. First-party Apple apps appear to still be "free," while all other free apps, whether they have in-app purchases or not are "get." Under the "get" button there is a notation if there are in-app purchases.

Pint I see some people saying on here they don't like it cause it confused me, They changed the letters on a button, How is that confusing ??

The reason this has been in the news and they keep chaining it is because little kids keep buying app or in app purchases without their parents knowing it and they end up suing the companies (mainly Apple) but then Apple wins the lawsuit and the parents end up paying a lot and the European Commission and the American Government are trying to protect consumers so they are forcing the companies to make it harder to "accidentally" buy stuff.

Yes! that is so true, basically similar to what I said

Kimbrel Confused me at first but it makes sense. It gets rid of those people who complain that "free" games aren't truly free.

Yeah like every game that says free you actually have to buy them, really annoys me man. Then they send you messages saying there are sales on the currency they use, really does annoy me :|
