Halo 5 main character is Agent Locke, says actor

The star of upcoming TV series Halo: Nightfall claims his character Agent Locke will be the main protagonist in Halo 5: Guardians, rather than Master Chief.

In an interview in X-One magazine (subsequently posted on Reddit), actor Mike Colter - who plays Agent Locke in the TV series - says he is the star of Halo 5.

"Yeah, I'm a playable character in Halo 5," he claims. "Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character.

"I'll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I'll be a Spartan IV."

While Colter didn't give any further information on how much of the game is spent controlling Agent Locke, he did also give some hints that suggested at least part of the campaign involves searching for Master Chief.

"What's not known, is whether I'm a friend or foe," he teased. "The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting. Because what's the outcome?

"Is he dead or alive? Because that's usually what a manhunt comes down to, dead or alive, but you won't know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away].

"Or what will happen if we do find him, what condition he will be in, and where he's at mentally. But I'm sure that'll be a plot twist in Halo 5."

Agent Locke was revealed in June as the main character in upcoming live-action series Halo Nightfall.

Episodes of the series will feature on the Halo Channel, an "all-new interactive digital network" for Xbox One and PC which lets users watch original content, explore the Halo universe and join up with friends.

That's good to know, hopefully what the guy said on IGN is true. I don't really want to have to mainly play as someone other than master chief..

ODST Welp, that's the end of the Halo series. Chief is still alive but it's like 343i wants to stray away from the old story and just bring up a brand new one. Not liking how things are going for this universe.

Halo will always be my favorite series ever, even though I don't agree with the character swap and story not being mostly on chief I still think the game will be good, Story wise... I agree with you on where its going though not to amused
