GTA Online money glitching: “Rockstar police” go on ban spree

4.7
Sounds as though Rockstar’s getting serious about cracking down on GTA Online money glitchers, with reports surfacing of “undercover” employees infiltrating the community to bust perps.

GTA YouTube DomisLive notes in this video, several prominent YouTubers have been banned over the promotion of money glitching.

YouTubers such as Sir Weed, are apparently being targeted over videos such as this, which shows an exploit to boost bank accounts by millions in minutes:

Rockstar’s increasingly aggressive stance on glitching comes as it builds to the release of Heists, the GTA Online add-on which will supposedly replicates the larger scale robberies from GTA 5′s main campaign.

While no release date has been offered for Heists as yet, constant rumour is pegging the update for the next-gen versions of GTA V later this year. Heists, according to the GTA community, could offer pay-outs as high as $1.5 million per job.

In addition, YouTuber NoahJ456 (who’s also been banned over money glitch violations), rumoured recently that Rockstar employees, whom he dubs “the Rockstar police,” have been entering games to weedle out glitchers before placing them in the Cheaters Pool. Once you’re in here, you’re stuck for weeks.

Money glitching is a major topic among GTA Online players, as the game is notoriously tough when it comes to making cash. Players have long asked Rockstar for easier ways to accrue larger amounts of dollars.

Rockstar has reportedly been hot-patching money glitches with increasing enthusiasm since the last GTA Online update, the Independence Day Special, in early July.

The only current methods to make money are doing jobs (an average mission will net a few thousands dollars), killing people and stealing the cash that drops from the corpse (again, no one’s getting rich this way) or buying in-game currency with real money: The Great White Shark Cash Card, for example, costs £15 (€18.99 on the Xbox Store) and will give you $1.25 million in-game.

Polygon They intended for people to work for their money - do jobs/missions, races etc.
But people got inpatient and greedy, and instead of doing as intended, people started glitching.

It's the people who do glitches that are pushing back the heists (a good way to get legit money).
R* are having to focus on sorting out people who glitch and patching glitches instead of working/releasing these heists!
Stop glitching and the heists will be released.
It's simple!

TL;DR You weren't meant to get money so easy. Stop glitching so the heists can get released.

How many times do I have to tell you people, the team who is creating Heists and the team that patches glitches are NOT dependent on each other. In fact, they aren't even allowed to talk about what they are working on. Rockstar is a very secretive company, and only the higher ups who need to know what's going on have access to that information. The reason Heists aren't out is because current-gen can't handle them and they are waiting for next-gen for the release.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "YOU PEOPLE"

He's talking about the illiterate dumbf*cks who act like they no what they're talking about.

mmmmkay~

Kayleigh We only glitch because fxcking heists aren't out!

FFS Rock star get your SH1T together

That's like saying you robbed a bank because you wanted some money.

It's wrong to cheat, it is YOUR fault, and you should get punished for it.

Grow up and take responsibility for yourself.

$100,000 = $15

You can surpass that in seconds by doing glitches (Which i'm fine with) But if GTA Had some kind of economy system where 1000's of people had billions the bans would be warrented.

We have been waiting for heists forever... Its close to a year now and still no heists. They wonder why we glitch..

I understand why heists didn't get released early. One they obviously didn't have it finished, but even if so the in game economy had to get rolling. As you see the stock market was taken out of online after a couple days if not less of the game being out, and still isn't back.

And for them banning moddeds, good for them. I don't mod the game (I have before but it honestly ruins the fun) glad they'll get rid of those people. Sorry for the others who don't agree with me

Hiests should have been there at launch. That's there problem. There's always going to be noobs who can't complete jobs themselves and result to glitching. Maybe if you planned out the release a lot better, it would have made a huge difference.

Im yet again disappointed in Rockstar. You guys are saying we're pushing them back but if they didnt waste their time banning/resetting whatever they fully be working on the heists that we were promised. Its BEEN HOW LONG NOW? This is ridiculous. I bet when the heists come out they arent even going to be good. They could easily ban them or rest their cash right before the Heists come out. Ugh Rockstar you dun goofed.
