Xbox One Doubles US Sales in June Thanks to Kinect-Less Console and E3

Tomorrow NPD will publish its sales data for the US market tomorrow, but apparently Microsoft decided to jump start them and publish its own stats today. According to Redmond’s company the Xbox One more than doubled its sales in June compared to May.

Microsoft attributes the increase in sales to “the new $399 offering” and “The amazing lineup of games announced during E3.” Interestingly, the lack of Kinect is never directly mentioned. It has become somewhat of a taboo in Microsoft’s official communication, but that’s marketing for you.
Looks like there’s still room for pitched competition this year, which is always a good thing. Tomorrow we’ll know if the Xbox One managed to overtake its arch-rival, at least for June. My money is on a very close result, one way or another.

Bebe_Rexha I wouldn't want my Xbox One without Kinect, it's the best part about the Xbox One!

What's so great about the xbox one? The only thing I hate personally about it is that you can't play xbox 360 games on it which irritates me.

Clearly you have a very short memory. Xbox E3 was nothing but games, nobody is expected to like every game but to say FH2 was the only good game is just bad judgement. Off the top of my head I can remember a number of great titles ie Crackdown, Halo 5, Scalebound, Fable Legends and so on.

those are all just remakes,

Where did you get that from? Halo masterchief collection is an upgrade of halo 1,2,3 and 4. All the other big games are all new, did you even watch the e3 show of Microsoft?

like you just stated all it is an upgrade from the same game.

Sony haven't exactly being doing extremely well anyway. If you look at the amount of countries it launched in vs Microsoft, the Xbox One still kept up extremely well anyway.

Kinectless shouldn't have even taken this much time to release it. They had the worst timing possible with the NSA scandal going on and the kinect and every one thinking it would spy on you.

actually it isnt pointless. it has many things you can do with it. it took me seeing what it could do before i bought one and man im happy i did.
