Images of curved iPhone 6 display panel have leaked

3.8
Alright, so there haven't been just a few leaks regarding the iPhone 6, there has been quite a few. Many leaks, including photos of the display component itself, and the newest report which claims that Foxconn is hiring 100,000 workers to manufacture the smartphone, have been outed in the last month or so. Most recently, images of a curved iPhone 6 display panel have been unveiled, courtesy of 9to5Mac.

The image shown above compares the unconfirmed device's display panel to the current iPhone 5s screen. The curved edges will provide more comfort when using the device, compared to using previous models, which feature more pronounced edges on the display panel.

Nothing has changed on the top of the display. There is still a front facing camera, earpiece, and ambient light sensor. We could speculate that with the increased screen size, Apple could increase the pixel count in the front facing camera as well.

There have been many other leaks concerning the iPhone 6, such as rumors of the iWatch and iPhone 6 launching together, a moved power button, and much more. Despite the fact that there has been no confirmation from Apple as to the legitimacy of these leaks; how the information is fitting together, as well as Apple trying to stop further leaks, is making it seem very likely that these leaks could be genuine.

I wouldn't expect anything amazing from Apple anyway.
Just an overpriced curved phone.

Unless you're buying an unlocked one, off-contract, newest generation smartphones are almost always ~$200, so clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

Incorrect, the upfront price of a new generation smartphone may very well be relatively low while on contract compared to being off contract, but you are still (eventually) paying the full price of the phone. Only, you are paying it little by little through your monthly bill. Not trying to be a jerk here but you should really be thinking things through before attacking someone. Also, your thought on $200 not being over priced is, in fact, an opinion of your own and may not necessarily be the opinion of another.

Because people actually calculate monthly bills that way. That's why they're called monthly bills, not "total-phone-and-phone-plan-bill." With your logic, that means your TV or gaming console really costs the cumulative amount of money you've paid for anything that relates to it (internet, electricity, cable). Conclusively, that would mean there would be no point of buying a phone with tied with a contract if "you are still (eventually) paying the full price of the phone."

Also, he did not say that all phones being $200 were overpriced but specifically pointed out the iPhone, even though ALL companies have their newest generation phone priced at ~$200 with a 2-year contract (exception with the new NEXT/JUMP/EDGE plans with 0 downpayment). Samsung even makes their Galaxy Notes usually priced at ~$300. I did think things through, I just didn't feel the need to say it all because I assumed someone would understand how cellular phone pricing works.

Michael_Mosson Curved iPhone 6 coming? If the images are correct then there is also another Apple-Samsung lawsuit coming.

Samsung doesn't own the rights to curved devices. So, no, there won't be.

Overpriced its the same price as many other smartphones

Instead of getting an iPhone, I would much rather get an HTC One, or a Samsung Galaxy. The iPhone 6 is just too weak of a phone.
