Destiny Will Hit 1080p and 30FPS on Xbox One Following Latest Back-End

4.5
Developer Bungie aims to bring Destiny up to a 1080p resolution output on the Xbox One following the release of the console’s latest software development kit.

It will still run at 30 frames-per-second, but the boost in resolution is reportedly attributed to the 10% increase in GPU power since last week’s back-end update on Microsoft’s console, Geoff Keighley was able to find out:

After @xboxp3 interview I've been asking devs about impact of new Xbox sdk on perf. Bungie says it will get Destiny to 1080p/30fps on XB1.

It’s not clear what sort of performance milestones Bungie was aiming for before the update, but it is clear that the GPU power initially reserved for the Xbox One’s Kinect sensor will now help boost the game’s pixel count on the console instead.

Please someone explain what the HELL is going on I am about to dump this crap console if these devs can't put out 1080p 60fps. It really upsets me to see this junk. I paid 500$ for a console that performs like a 360... Should of just stuck with my damn PC where devs can actually make a game freely and have the fps be consumer side. I am seriously upset.

30fps? God dammit xbox step your freakin' game up. 30 frames is in the past for consoles, or it should be at least.

game looks good but its probbly gona get a hype like titan fall then not turn out as good as you hoped. when they first announced this game and i seen pics i thought it was gona be a open world fps mmo but that dosnt look like that will happen because the xbox one isnt powerful enough and this game comes out on xbox 360 as well lol what will the graphics be on that 480p upscaled to 900p

Miss Why can't it be 60fps?! Not a fan of the same fps as 360.

What's it matter 30 FPS or 60 FPS? You can barely tell a difference. The gameplay will still be very smooth, as long as they lock it at 30 FPS.

Exactly. You cannot tell the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps while playing.

Yes you can, I game on PC mostly and can tell when the FPS drops from above 60 to 50 or lower. Also if they have to run the game at 30FPS I doubt it will be able to hold that constantly and it will likely drop into the 20s and become a horrible jerky mess.

You obviously never played PC. Most HD TVs have 60hz refresh speed and believe me, 30fps vs 60fps is a HUGE difference. Want to see for yourself? http://30vs60.com/

I can VERY EASILY tell the difference between 30 and 60. Half the time a TV will restrict what your FPS can be though so it doesn't always matter. It seems to me that most TVs have a 60hz refresh rate though.

Sorry if my thoughts seem unorganized... haha

Only 30fps? While I do appreciate the fact that that's a playable framerate, it is going to be absolutely unbearable whenever there are multiple characters or explosions etc. on the screen. Being that I have had a constant 100ish on almost all of my games on PC, it's going to feel very foreign when I get my Xbox One again.
