Destiny beta confirmed for July

Destiny's beta test will start in July, Activision announced Tuesday.

The publisher revealed the date during a presentation on its first-quarter 2014 financial results. The studio previously announced that it would open up the beta for its multiplayer shooter in summer.

The Destiny beta will be available first to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners, Bungie confirmed in November 2013.

Bungie has also released a new 7-minute gameplay video of the game in action, showcasing a Strike mission, which sees three players co-operate to complete a designated task.

The publisher announced on Tuesday that it had invested $500 million into the Destiny franchise, saying that "the stakes for us are getting bigger."

Destiny will release for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9.

So Bungie decides after being a Microsoft company and only making games for Microsoft products. All of a sudden they starts making multi-console games. Now that is understandable, a bigger market share. Good for them, does kind of suck that PS gets preference over time in the Beta. I hate when companies do that, every game should release same time for each console. I am an Xbox guy, and I had friends with PS3 and we played cod at their houses, I hated them not having the add-ons. So unfair. But at least this Beta will come to Xbox soon after probably not a long wait like the COD dlc's.

You need to pre order the game or try to get one from Halo4.
