Warface Xbox 360 launched today with new gameplay trailer

Warface is now officially launched on Xbox 360, ending months of open beta testing.

Developer Crytek has marked the release with a new Warface launch trailer, which shows off new gameplay footage and features in the Xbox 360 and PC shooter.

The free-to-play first-person shooter entered open beta in late March. The PC version has attracted more than 25 million registered players since it debuted in Russia in April 2012 and elsewhere around the world in October 2013.

Warface entered closed beta on Xbox 360 early in February. Though the game itself is free-to-play, only paid Xbox Live Gold subscribers are allowed access.

The game runs on CryEngine 3, the same engine which powers Crysis 3 and Ryse.

Crytek plans to add new class-based competitive multiplayer and co-op, gear, and other content into the game on a daily basis.

"Our goal with Warface has always been to show that free-to-play games can be top quality, blockbuster experiences that match the industry's highest standards," Crytek publishing GM Dirk Metzger said after its release on PC.
