Skype for Windows 8.1 gets an update

4.4
Microsoft released their greatly awaited Windows 8.1 update yesterday, but they also pushed out a new version of Skype for those wishing to use the communication tool on the newly released version of Windows. The update brings Skype up to 2.7 and contains some notable new features. Users are now able to appear invisible but still remain online to receive any chat messages they may be expecting while actually being able to "sign out" forcing the user's session to terminate completely.

Why? Because helping users stay plugged in but without getting overwhelmed or feeling disturbed is a tricky challenge and we look to our users to tell us what works best for them.Skype Team

Windows 8 may be a drastic change, but you get used to it after a while, however, I strongly dislike Skype for Windows 8.

I actually like Windows 8. I like that it is less user friendly than other operating systems.

Danimals i think i will be sticking with windows 7 until they make 8 100% stable

Yeah, I hate to be old fashioned but I just like 7 a bit more.

Even if 8 was 100% stable i'm too familiar with windows 7 as that's all ive used so i wouldn't change!

I agree. I don't think i will ever go to Win8. Win7 has stuck with me now.

They made such a massive change between the two.

My friend has Windows 8 and i cant even operate it, just doing normal things, just seems so complicated, i dont know why they made it so different

I think I will be updating to 8.1! Seems to be stable and looks smooth.
