Tony Hawk developing new game with Activision

Activision is developing a new game in partnership with Tony Hawk, the publisher has confirmed.

Hawk, a professional skater who has starred in his own series of skateboarding games stretching back to 1999, revealed that he is "working on a game" during a recent radio show. "It's pretty cool," he said, without elaborating further.

Confirming the title, publisher Activision said in a follow-up statement, "Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk.

"More info is coming soon," it told IGN.

It's unclear if the new game will be a Tony Hawk Pro Skater title or something else. The last THPS game released was 2012's Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, a somewhat updated remake of the original 1999 PSone title.

It was developed by Robomodo and published by Activision.

Why cant they just scrap this and make a new skate game :( It'd be crazy on next gen

"It's pretty cool" makes it sound like they are trying something new, which scares me. RIDE and SHRED tried something new with the board controller, but they were complete failures. Nonetheless, the possibility of a new TH game has me stoked.

The last Tony hawk game i played was american wasteland, so i hope that this is up to that standard as i loved that game.
