Toy Soldiers: Cold War, Dead Island free for Xbox Live Gold members

4.4
Microsoft's Major Nelson has announced next month's lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold members, revealing that subscribers can expect to receive free copies of Toy Soldiers: Cold War and Dead Island in February.

Signal Studios' Xbox Live Arcade strategy game Toy Soldiers: Cold War includes a series of tower defense-styled battles featuring miniature foot soldiers and combat vehicles. Dead Island, a 2011 retail release from Techland, is a first-person action game that challenges players to survive a zombie invasion at an island resort, with help from friends via online cooperative play.

As with previous Games With Gold program releases, both Dead Island and Toy Soldiers: Cold War are free for users to keep once they are downloaded, even after associated Xbox Live Gold memberships expire. New games are added to the service on the 1st and 16th of each month.

-Mark I am tempted to download Dead Island. I played the most recent one and it was pretty fun but I never got to far into the campaign.
I think it is worth downloading just for the achievements, the second one was a lot better in my opinion.

the second one was literally the exact same gameplay though. Only a change in environment and characters pretty much

Lia Both of these games I haven't played before. Hopefully they are worth the download.

Dead Island is a really fun game on both solo and co-op, but I recommend co-oping with a friend.

xCrank I'm pretty sure this is for Xbox 360 I wish I had a Xbox 360, my first Xbox console is the Xbox One as soon as I get the money to purchase a Xbox 360 I will do so, but that's also really cool about Xbox 360 how they give out a FREE games once in a while that's a feature I've never seen on the PS3.

I feel like this is either a troll comment to entice PS fanboys or a person living under a rock. Regarding your statement, PSN has the PS+ subscription that allows you to get free* games. The list changes with about 3-4 games a month for the PS3 while 2-3 a month for PS Vita. These games stay as yours until your subscription is discontinued (which for many people doesn't happen just like how most people on XBL stay consistent to get the number of years they've subscribed to the service to increase). You can install and delete these games any time you please so long as you're still subscribed to the PS+ system. Playstation has been doing this for quite some time and is known for giving out many great AAA titles in turns ranging from years to 6 months after initial retail release of the game itself. XBL has been doing their "service" for only about half a year now and despite several good (but old) titles, most of the games we've seen have been arcade titles that don't have the same kin of heft and story behind a retail game.
haha you wrote so much !;) they are for xbox 360 and xbox one? :)
