David Vonderhaar: Commentaries are lame

4.7

David Vonderhaar, Game Design Director at Treyarch, has made it publicly known that "commentaries are lame". That's a pretty big statement considering how much of a positive effect Youtube and big commentators have on the Call of Duty community.

Below you will find a few images taken from MuzzaFuzza's Twitter account. Above are images from WhiteBoy7thSt and David Vonderhaar. For those of you who do not know, MuzzaFuzza and WhiteBoy7thSt are commentators on youtube with a total combined audience of 2 million people! That is a huge audience! What you may not have known about them, is apparently they are "lame".

As reported and proven time and time before, Mom and Pop shops that sell videogames are often easily swindled to sell you products once they receive them. Money talks, and these shop owners often listen! Games have been known to slip out of these stores up to two weeks early if you have enough cash on the table.

What are your opinions on people who legitimately buy the game early? Should they be punished with channel strikes, ban's and resets? Or is it fair game since they legally bought this game at a certified reseller?

Commentators help spread the news about their game. If they don't like commentaries, then they should get people to stop and watch the impact on their sales.

So he would rather just watch the game..

Most commentators don't commentate over the game, they will talk about some topics..

Erected_Pickles Commentaries are fine to an extent. Personally, I love whiteboy and syndicate. But I don't like commentaries by some random 10 yr old wanna be. The people I've mentioned are interesting, unlike the wanna be's.

well neither does anyone else XD. thats why they get 10 views.

Commentaries are lame, I mean cast some great matches instead of making me watch and ad just to hear your voice... People who cast other games like Husky are very well loved due to their ability to cast great games with fast reactions.

Vonderhaar is friends with a good margin of commentators. I really don't think we would make this public even if he really did hate them (apparently confirmed troll.)

It wasn't a troll, he just realized what a **** he was

Someone said in the comments that he was joking.. i hope so. Im not a commentator my self but i really do enjoy watching commentaries its something different than watching tv.. lol. Its also great advertising for video games so i should imagine weather he likes them or not hes not going to rule out the possibility of people showing videos of black ops 2

BackHandLegend I totally agree with David on this one. I hate watching commentaries with random gameplay or tards going 9001 - 0 on a game, but its exciting looking at a match between two people like Europe VS USA on CS GO. Now that was awesome and I enjoyed every bit of it.

I think commentaries can be fun, and you get to know a bit more about people.
When it's stuff like Europe VS USA I find it really fun aswell.
