Only scripted destruction for Modern Warfare 3

4.4
All those explosions, wrecked buildings and bits of flying rubble in the Modern Warfare 3 trailer? Purely scripted, NowGamer has revealed.

At a demonstration of the game that took place earlier this week, the site discovered that there would be no organic destruction featured in the Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer sequel. This goes against recent rumors that suggested the game would be upping its tech to compete with EA’s Battlefield 3.

As the site puts it: “firing bullets at surfaces and throwing grenades merely results in slight texture changes, rather than real-time destruction.”

Disappointing, but expected we guess. Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 8.

thePiManx that's good! and here's why.

bandwidth is precious.

every one of the followings must be sent to each and every xbox connected.

all the 'openings' created from the destruction.
all the 'crumbling' of items.

and now imagine five of those happening in front of you from five different players on five different buildings.

lag!

that's fine in single player, but not online!

Bad Company managed it with no lag at all. I like both games and I think even just a little bit of destruction would fit great into MW3...

This would've been great in single player. Maybe not online with people camping in destroyed buildings and the like, but it really would have been great in single player.

Atleast it won't end up like BF3 where p[people will destroy builings to hide in them with LMGS and camp with medics and Assaults...

iLewis Owell that really doesn't make too much of a difference. I would like to see if Battlefield adds this.

Have you played bad company 2? of course BF 3 will have it.

Im glad if I wanted the walls to blow up in call of duty I would just play battlefield. I like battlefield and the fact walls can be blow up but I also like that in CoD they cant be. Sometimes having your cover blow away all the time is annoying.
