Xbox 360 doesn't have an internet browser because MS can't secure IE

We received an interesting e-mail tip from a self-proclaimed insider at MS regarding the lack of browser on the Xbox 360. From what we're told, MS always wanted to include an internet browser on the Xbox 360, although they can't due to security fears with Internet Explorer. Apparently, MS has security fears over bringing IE to the Xbox 360 and will not consider the use of any other browser because they would be 'losing face'.

Interesting, it is a bit of a shame that it is the only console without such functionality to date.

I wouldn't ever use it even if it had one. My computer is literally RIGHT NEXT to my xbox. My tv and my comp sit next to each other, with the xbox and halo reach statue in between them :)

actually, it wouldnt be good because Microsoft would know who has TTG or what theyre searchin. ie: lobbies, JTAGs, inappropriate content, etc.

if ur using live u already have a computer so who cares.if u rly want a browser use a window media player extension and go through the media center on xbox......
