Halo Wars 2 goes gold, beta kicks off this Friday

Halo Wars 2 has gone gold, 343’s Dan Ayoub announced today in a Tweet.

Although going gold still means this is the build that’ll be available on disc, the term is losing its significance as day one patches and the games as a service model become the norm.

In other Halo Wars 2 news, the beta will go live on Friday on Xbox One, and PC for the first time. It’ll remain available all the way through Monday, January 30, open to everyone.

Only the Blitz mode will be playable, though all release day commanders will be unlocked. Blitz will be played on one map in the beta, and it mixes element from card-based games and RTS action.

Halo Wars 2 is out February 21. Ultimate edition owners get to play on February 17.

TTGn00bs To bad when i played the beta it was complete shit.

Great opinion, learned a ton. Anyway, this seems great. Loved Halo Wars, can't wait for the second. I might pre order just to play the beta, not sure. I'm definitely playing this on PC though

Hopefully the fixed some bugs from the first beta. this next one should be great. Cool to hear the games gold.
