Ubisoft: The Division’s Active Player Count Returned to Launch Numbers

4.8
Remember The Division? Ubisoft’s 2016 MMOTPS, “Destiny-killer” that went from wildly successful to mass exodus in the span of a month. According to publisher Ubisoft, the online-only game has seen a resurgence, returning back to “daily active users” that were there at launch following Patch 1.4.

Giving a statement to PCGamesNetwork, Vice President of live operations at Ubisoft said “Since the release of patch 1.4, we went back to the daily active users we had at launch, because people were [so impressed].” Further, “people realized we meant what we said and Ubisoft plus developers Massive put time into fixing problems identified by the community.” Ubisoft did not clarify with specific numbers, or what exactly “launch” means in the sentence.

The Division‘s 1.4 patch — released in late October — brought fairly hefty changes to the shooter including features, UI improvements, gameplay changes and much more. Also since then, Survival DLC and Update 1.5 went live for The Division also likely boosting the playerbase.

The Division launched on March 8, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Mickers This game needs constant changes to keep it remotely entertaining.

I totally agree it is very repetitive when grinding out missions, I myself have not returned yet to see what it's like but I don't have very high hopes.

Honestly went back to this game it looks a lot better now but since I don't own a seasons pass it's still pointless to me. My character is still OP from months ago as well making it even more pointless.

Skates I think the game being on sale helped with the amount of online users because I even had to snag the deal myself.

I agree with this statement. Holiday sales helped this a lot

I think they're just saying that, the game had an insane player count when it was just out. I don't see that many people going back to it just because of the update, maybe it was the sales that contributed to the overall player count as well but I don't know about that.

This is probably down to the Steam sales
