Pokemon GO: Rare Pokemon Appearance Causes Stampede

4.5
There’s no denying just how impactful Pokemon GO has been on the world around it thus far. The game has quickly become the biggest mobile title in the United States, and its popularity is only growing as it continues to be rolled out in countries around the globe. Keeping all of that in mind, it’s amazing to see just how much pull the title has amassed with gamers since its launch, with a recent video featuring a literal herd of players in pursuit of a Vaporeon being one of the more incredible examples of how much influence Pokemon GO has on its audience.

Spawning in New York City’s Central Park, the creature apparently pulled in a bevy of hapless trainers that were hoping to add it to their team. As players rushed into the vicinity to secure the monster, one individual took the liberty of filming the masses pouring into the park. The resulting footage is rather jaw-dropping, and it showcases just how big Pokemon GO really has become in less than a month’s time.

Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the alleged Vaporeon-based madness can do so by checking out the video below.

I seen the video the other day. It's funny they look like a bunch of sheep.

What about that one girl who got hit by a car on the highway because she was chasing a pokemon? She blamed the app, but SHE was the one that downloaded it, and SHE was the one playing it without paying attention. Nothing else besides her is to blame for her getting hit by walking into traffic and not paying attention. This game is not to blame for people getting hurt or injured, it is purely user error. I like the game, and I play the game, but I will not put my life at risk for this game, no one smart would put their life at risk either.

I saw this video on Twitter and thought it was quite funny. I most likely would've been one of those people if I was near Central Park.

Edin This is so sad. A bunch of grown men running around chasing pixels, ridiculous.

either join in or don't, I find it "sad" when people make fun of people for doing what they like

Sooner or later there is going to be an accident and people will get hurt. They're like a bunch of zombies running around with their head glued to their phone. That guy literally abandoned his car to go catch a Pokemon. Slaves to their phones.

Edin This world is going to shit. Sorry if you disagree with me, but a bunch of grown men running around chasing pixels is ridiculous.

Your idea of a good world must be pretty bland.
