Hello,

I'm selling my 980 Ti and swapping some parts around with the money from the card as well as some extra.

I just want a quick review on the build below which is what I'm hoping the build will be finally after upgrades and tweaks.

Thanks

Well the 980 Ti is a good card, but because I'm only 16 and don't have an income I can't afford to buy other parts to fit the 980 ti, if you know what I mean. Also, If the R9 390 can perform well at 1440p then why not. Although I'm not 100% certain on this.

What I want to know is how well will the 980 Ti run on 3440 x 1440p maxed out? And how long this card is going to last playing at these sort of settings. Perhaps overclocking my 4690k from 3.5 to 4.5 ghz will make all the while in Arma 3 and other games.

Unless the choice I'm making is going to be a really bad downgrade and pointless then I'll keep the 980 Ti and try to find a way for the extra cash.

Well I had money for the card and wanted to play 1440p ultra settings. But I want to watercool my CPU for better performance, add the SSD which I couldn't at the time as well as changing the case and power supply.

Screw the downgrade then, I can find the cash, but I just felt a little confused into what I was thinking.

I just made a build with a i7 4790k and the 980ti it will perform much better on ultra settings look at benchmark tests on youtube if you aren't for sure what you want. At the end of the day tho do what is best for you!

You have a good processor and a good GPU. Personally I would not downgrade, upgrade critical components that are not on par with the two that you have there. (power supply being critical)

Wot. This thread is a train wreck. What components do you currently own? What is your budget? What do you need? What will the system be used for? Why ultrawide 1440p? Why 16GB RAM?
