Hey.

I've spent the last 5 hours building my PC and have managed to get the computer running but when I select the USB to boot windows 7 off from in the BIOS menu it doesn't and just flashes an underscore.

Any help?

Thanks

Do you mean a Windows 7 bootable install?

Yes. I select the USB from the boot order and it doesn't actually boot the install for windows 7.

I'm going to try windows 8.1 and see if that works.

Have you made the USB bootable using one of the decent programs like ISO2USB or whatever?

Just in case it helps, could you give us a list of your specs, and any more information that you can give us.

You don't need a program. This is the best way

Do that and move the files onto the USB. Also make sure to play around with your BIOS legacy and UEFI.

Programs such as ISO2USB and/or Win2USB, as well as many others are incredibly straight forward, anyone can use them. I use ISO2USB if I need to make a bootable USB, and it's always worked wonders for me.

OP-Make sure your USB has enough storage space, format it and then use something like Win2USB or ISO2USB or whatever to make the USB bootable with whichever Windows ISO you're using. Make sure your BIOS is recognising your internal storage as well, and then set the boot priority as USB>SSD>HDD. If you don't have an SSD, then USB>HDD, obviously. Save the BIOS and exit, your system will restart and should boot in to Windows installation. If not, you might have to go back in to the BIOS and manually select the USB as boot device which will boot straight in to the Windows installation. If that still doesn't work, either your USB is dodgy, or not working, or there is an issue with the ISO.

Yeah thanks.

I'm trying a windows 8.1 ISO files and also using the program as well as a different memory stick.

Building the PC took ages today, to be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought but for me installing the hyper 212 EVO was the hardest considering this was my first build.
