It says I don't have a recommended OS system... does this mean I can't max it?

No you'll be fine, also i wouldn't advise 'Can you run it' Inaccurate results.

Whats your specs?

Download speccy, screenshot the results and post here, we will say what setting and fps you'll be likely to get.

My anti-virus wouldn't let me download that - saying "threat detected"...

but my specs are i7 4790k, GTX 970, 16GB RAM, Asus Maximus VII Ranger

Your pc is more than powerful enough to run any game. You do not need to worry the os thing.
