Synopsis:

Fight Night Round 4 is a boxing video game developed by EA Sports. It is the sequel to Fight Night Round 3, released in 2006. It was released on June 25, 2009 in North America and on June 26, 2009 in Europe, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game's featured boxers are Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. It contains 48 licensed boxers as well as several new modes, such as Legacy mode

Gameplay:

Welcome to Fight Night Round 4, a boxing game that everyone has heard of our played. This game besides looking absolutely amazing will for sure have you jumping out of your seat with some really cool punches and crowd roaring victories. This game is everything you loved from it's predecessor Fight Night Round 3 and the developers really just added to it. One of the biggest things is Legacy Mode which now has a ton of new things to it and is for sure worth checking it out. I wont go into detail about it because I do not want to ruin it for anyone who has not played this game yet. But Legacy Mode is a game mode that allows you to create your own boxer and you work your way up to the top and become one of the professionals. The only thing I did not like about this game is training your boxer it really just was not fun for me at all and felt really repetitive. But when you are fighting in the ring depending on the ring you are fighting in will depend on the crowd and if there is a big crowd they will go crazy at times which really helps the player feel like they are actually there boxing in the ring. I really like this and think it really makes the game feel realistic. You can also fight against your friends and see who really dominates the ring. This is something I found extremely fun when I would fight my friends and the winner would start talking smack then next round you would come in and just knock out your friends fighter. It really is a fun thing to experience. The fighting in this game actually looks and plays a lot better then the previous Fight Night game. The boxers move a lot better and look really good. Every punch you throw can either impact you positively or negatively and you need to time your throws accordingly. Overall this game is really amazing and fun. I think this game is one of the best sport based games I have ever played and have really never had so much fun playing a sports game before. I think any gamer would enjoy the things added to the game and how much more realistic it really feels when playing. I do recommend this game to anyone.

Graphics:

The graphics for Fight Night Round 4 are exactly what you would expect if you played it's predecessor Fight Night Round 3. This game went from looking amazing to looking realistic. This game just look like you are watch boxing on TV at times and it is ridiculous how crazy this game can look at times. When I first played this game I was amazed on how better it looked then Fight Night Round 3. I honestly did not think it could look any better then the game series already did but was I wrong. The attention to detail is just beyond amazing and in this game you can actually see the vibrations when a fighter gets hit and you can see all the sweat and sometimes blood from a fight while they are boxing. The atmosphere for this game is also pretty incredible and is something that should be noticed as well. I personally have yet to see a game more detailed then Fight Night Round 4. Overall this game has some of the best graphics in video game history in my opinion and have yet to have a game really compete with them graphic wise. I think the attention to detail is just incredible and really blew me away when I first played this game. I think anyone would be impressed with the graphical side of this game.

Controls:

The controls for Fight Night Round 4 are pretty much the same as it's predecessor Fight Night Round 3 for the most part. I found the controls pretty basic and easy to use even with the combination involved it still was easy to use and really easy to remember most of the controls. There is a few preset control layouts you can choose from to find the one that fits you the best if the default control layout is not working for you. I honestly found these controls really relaxing to use and did not have to think about the controls while playing which helps the player focus on the game and not the controller looking at the buttons. I think the controls fit the game and really make the game interactive for the user. Overall the controls are good and I liked them and think they fit the game just fine. I do not see any player having issues learning and retaining the control layout.

Overall:

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 10/10
Controls: 9/10
Overall: 9.5/10
