Synopsis:

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of first-person shooter video games in the Halo series remade for the Xbox One. Released in November 2014, The Master Chief Collection was primarily developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios. The collection consists of the original trilogy developed by BungieHalo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 3along with Halo 4, the first of three planned installments from 343 Industries. The games received a graphical upgrade for the release, with Halo 2 receiving a high-definition redesign of its audio and visuals that are exclusive to the collection.[3] Access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta and the live-action series Halo: Nightfall are also included. Each game in the compilation retains its original story and gameplay, though Halo 2's cutscenes were extended by Blur Studio using pre-rendered computer-generated imagery (CGI). The multiplayer mode features every map released for each title, along with six remakes of original Halo 2 maps. Critics generally praised The Master Chief Collection for its updated audio and visuals, as well as its quantity of content, although many criticized inconsistent matchmaking experiences, which 343 Industries vowed to remedy in future updates.

Plot:

Welcome to Halo Master Chief Collection, arguably one of the best games known to man kind. You play as Spartan John-117 or better known as Master Chief. This game will take your through every single Halo campaign that Master Chief is apart of starting with Halo Combat Evolved all the way up to Halo 4 (a total of four campaigns you get to play through). You will get to relive your childhood for the most part as you can start right from Halo Combat Evolved and relive the experiences and memories this game brought to you and to the world. This "remake" brings back all the fun and awesome memories you made as a child that you can relive now in 1080p. This game was really made for the ultimate Halo fan to be able to take home and play on the new consoles which better graphics and better mechanics this game has so much to offer that every Halo fan will get to relive and enjoy once more.

Gameplay:

Halo Master Chief Collection. This is by far arguably one of the best video game series ever created. With one of most well know video game characters ever (Master Chief) this series is what I personally really think start the first person shooter (FPS) hype for console and what really drove other gaming companies to try and compete with the Halo series on console. Halo is a game a lot of us gamers spent most of our childhood playing and making so many memories with the series that when something like Master Chief Collection (MCC) is released it is really a way for older gamers to relive their childhood and for younger gamers to be able to see some of the most iconic campaigns ever created. This game has four games from the Halo series (Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4). All these games involve Master Chief and while there are other games from the series such as Halo Reach and Halo ODST they did not involve Master Chief so that is why they are not added to MCC. But this game is a bundle of the four games I mentioned all on one disc. With the older games such as Combat Evolved and Halo 2 these games were redone a bit with the lighting and graphics of the game to make them the same 1080p as Halo 3 and Halo 4. All the games are still the same from when they were first released such as all the missions and Easter eggs are all still there for you. Nothing has changed about these games besides the graphics overhaul. Being able to pick and choose what missions you want to replay from any of the campaigns is a really nice feature that I like. I like being able to play certain levels that I once played a lot as a young kid. Sense the actual game play for these games is still the same I will give you just a over view of the game play that I personally feel with every halo game that I have played (which is all of them). The game play for Halo is just beyond amazing, Halo is really one of those games you can play for countless hours and even when you beat the campaign you will find yourself just replaying the levels again and again and again.... and again. This game just has so much to offer that when I saw they were releasing these four for the new console I knew I was going to be getting it. There is so much in MCC that this game will take you days to even complete the entire campaign sense there is really four all wrapped into one. Being able to go through such a massive storyline like this is really the first of it's kind for console and if you do not have this game yet then you need to go get it right now. The campaign is not the only thing this game has though there is also a multiplayer to it which just like every other Halo that offers multiplayer is very populated for the most part and usually you can find a game pretty fast. This game also has a competitive side to it for multiplayer that any gamer will enjoy. They one neat thing about this game that stands out from the rest of the Halo games is that they brought every map from the four games and put them into this multiplayer so there is over sixty maps to choose from when playing online. This is something that is a first for me seeing I have never seen a game with so many maps available to play on. But lets say you just want to play Halo Combat Evolved online against other players well guess what that is no problem this is something you can do easily. You are able to choose what Halo multiplayer you want to play or just play a mix one were you will get thrown into a random Halo online game. Overall Halo Master Chief Collection is a must buy game that any gamer will enjoy. Bringing back all these memories for gamers is huge and is something just incredible. This is such a massive game sense it really is four games thrown into one it is for sure worth picking up. Halo is my favorite game series and for a good reason. The game play is beyond amazing and is something I wish every gamer could experience. I do recommend that everyone get this game.

Graphics:

The graphics for Halo Master Chief Collection are way beyond what you normally see in a video game. These graphics are beyond amazing that it will amazing and impress any gamer who is playing the game. This game even has a switch for Halo Combat Evolved that you can switch between the original graphics of the game when it was first released and to the upgraded graphics they now have for the game. This is something we have only seen once when they remade Halo Combat Evolved for the Xbox 360. But this is the only game I have ever seen something like this. You can switch between the old and new graphics really easy with just a click of a button and it changes extremely fast and you can do it when ever you want to. Now that all the games are in 1080p it really makes the graphical aspect of this game truly a sight to see. The detail to the game is also extremely good. This game is a great example to attention to detail and it is extremely noticeable when playing the game. This game has so many different colors and different shades in it that they are all mixed so perfectly that it really makes the game almost look like a movie when playing it. The graphics for this game is truly something to get a chance to look at if you can. Overall this game has the best graphics I have ever seen in a game. The overall view of the game itself is amazing and it really does look almost like a movie at times. The graphics are really a site to see and are something other companies should be striving for. The best thing about the graphics is the switch they have that switches between the old and the new, this is the best graphical thing I have ever seen in a video game.

Controls:

The controls for Halo Master Chief Collection actually fit the game really well. I think they controls are really basic and really easy to learn as well. For the most part all the controls are the same for the Halo series so if you ever have played any Halo game from the series you will be just fine with any of the others. There are other control layouts for these games that some users fine easier to use then others but no worries the developers were defiantly thinking about a way to make a universal layout for users to be able to use one control layout over all four games. Which I personally think works really well and I really like it. The controls really do fit this game well and I think they help really letting the gamer feel like they are actually there and not just playing a video game. Overall these controls are nice and I personally like them but if you do not try some of the other layouts and see if they work for you. I think anyone will find a layout in this game that works for them so they can enjoy the game.

Overall:

Gameplay: 10/10
Graphics: 10/10
Controls: 10/10
Overall: 10/10

Extras:

Sense there is four different Halo games combined into Halo Master Chief Collection I am going to leave the other four game reviews for those games below if you would like a more detailed review on just one of the games.

Nice review, this game is pretty fun to play. Aside from the matchmaking search problems the game is just fine! I think 343 did a good job on it.

I give the game a 10/10 for gameplay and fun-ness. But a 5/10 for connection issues at launch.

Besides the connection, I've had a blast playing the game.
