So while I was away at Basic for 16 weeks, I spent some of the time writing a story.
It's like a short novel, at 135 pages on a 6x8.5 inch notebook.

I have been spending some time now that I'm back home, typing up the second draft.
I really enjoyed writing it, and I think it is pretty good.
I wouldn't say I'm even a good writer, but I hope others would enjoy reading it.

Anyway, I'm not done typing it up yet.
But I did decide to make a book cover for it. Just for fun.

Feeling a little lazy, I used some bits of things I have already created.
Vanguard Poster,
Knights Poster,
Hail To The King Poster,
and one of my portraits.

I edited them quite a bit, altering things, and making them work together.
So this still took quite some time.

But what do you think?
Does it do good as a book cover?

I think it could be improved by slightly increasing the opacity of your name (the author). At first I didn't see it, and was about to suggest adding it. Other than that it's looking sweet. The illustration is awesome as always. I particularly like the gold typography at the top; it fits what I presume to be a medieval/fantasy genre and pairs well with the illustration. Have you considered adding the spine and the back/blurb to the design?

Are you going to release the novel as an e-book or print, once you've finished typing it up?

I'll see what it looks like with greater opacity.
Thank you for the input!

What do you mean by "adding the spine and the back/blurb"?
Haha, I don't quite understand.

And I'm now sure how I'll release it, if I do.
I'll probably have a digital version. But I'll try to print a few copies.

That's IF I can get it edited, and go through a few drafts.

Something I see that slightly bugs me is that the background lowered opacity man looks a little not aligned with the guy in front (basing off the bottom corners of the helmet.) maybe it's just my monitor or my eyes because when I look at other focal points everything looks aligned, other than that great piece here Erik (:

Your work never ceases to amaze me. I hope to aspire to be as good as you, Erik. You are one hell of a designer, and I would not mind reading your story if you feel like sending it my way or putting this book up on an E-shop so that I can buy it

Yeah, Christoff the lady killer.

Anyway, you know how I feel about it.
Looks killer as usual, especially love the text.

Noice, noice, noice,

I think the color and design of the text works wonders with the character. It sets off a dark tone, but still has some brightness to it, if that makes sense. Awesome work, i'm sure the story is fantastic as well.
