Synopsis:
Persona 4 Golden is set in a rural Japanese town which has a high school and a shopping district. Unexplained murders begin to occur in this town where bodies are found dangling from TV antennas and their cause of death was unknown. At the same time however a rumour was going about that if you watch a switched off television on rainy midnights that it would reveal your soul mate. The game also follows the main character into the TV world, a fog-shrouded realm filled with monsters called shadows, which can be only accessed through TV sets.

Plot:
The plot behind Persona 4 Golden would be to use your new found power of entering the TV world to find out the meaning behind all of these bizarre murders and most of all, the bizarre realm inside the television. You have help from a couple of friends who join you after you save them one by one, the main ones being Yu (you can change the name of the MC) Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Teddie, Rise, and Naoto, theres also an extra one for the Golden add-on called Marie who has her own story during the end of the game. You start off having a dream and talking to 2 people called Igor and Margaret and also awakening your persona ability. You have a year to solve the murder case and also you can increase the power of your persona ability during the day by speaking and interacting with characters to unlock more personas for your character. At night you go into the TV world to train and rescue your friends.

Gameplay:
I have clocked about 180hours maybe more on this game just because there is literally that much to do and I still havent 100% completed yet or got bored of it for that matter. There are quite a lot of things you can do in this game, you start off having a dream of some sort and this is where you gain your first persona but since you are the main character you have a special power which allows you to gain more than one persona.
Each day you go to school where you can get up a set amount of skills and then after school you can get up certain social links, at night you have a chance to go to the TV world which allows you to train and when its time you can save a friends whats stuck in the TV world. You can also get up a few more social links at night as well. During the day you can also go shop to buy things like weapons and armour for your characters you can also buy other things that help your characters as well.
You can also upgrade your personas at near enough anytime you want but you do have to achieve certain social links and then you need to have enough money to get the persona you want.
There are different stages in the TV world for each person you save, you can also go back to the previous stages to complete some of the quests you get given and you can also train in any of these areas. Each area also has a boss.
I admit these stages can be kind of boring at times due to the all having the same kind of layout but you find yourself not in the TV world as much as you are in the real world gaining your social links and progressing on with the storyline.

Graphics:
These graphics only appeal to some people not everyone, to me they looked amazing and it made the game a lot more enjoyable in my opinion. This games graphics are quite unique as its not every day you get to play a game that looks like youre watching an anime. There were also some cut scenes in this game that were literally out of this world.

Fun Factor:
There fun factor for me in this game was through the roof since it had everything I enjoyed packed into one game. It had a great story line with lots of very enjoyable characters; it had some great twists in the game that I didnt expect especially the true ending and one of the bosses before the true end. The social links were very enjoyable to complete since it was this that zoned me into the game and its like you are living a totally different life.

Sound:
The narration for each character in the English version is amazing in my eyes and they couldnt have got it any better. The music in this game was quite catchy and never really got on your nerves. The sounds in the game whilst fighting were good I found since it had sound effects for each move and the characters also had a reaction for when they got hit or the made an attack which I found quite good.

Replay ability:
Theres so much replay ability within this game for instance, new game + which lets you go back through the story again whilst keeping a few things and it also increases the difficulty every time, this also helps you go back through and complete anything you have missed and you will possibly go through it around 2-3 maybe 4 times before you end you getting bored. Theres quite a lot of things you can accomplish going back through the game like for example having a look at the other ending and also getting the secrete ending. (True ending) Theres also the social links you can complete by trying to find out the exact route you should take to get everyones social links completed.

Controls:
The controls for this game are quite simple and very easy to get use to which is great for every game.
The controls are D-Pad and left analog stick to move, right analog stick to rotate the camera, L1 to rotate camera left, R1 to rotate camera right, start button to view the map of a dungeon and also to fast forward on event scenes, select to view the story log, circle to cancel in the US version and to confirm and use weapons in the JP version, X to confirm and use weapons in the US version and cancel in the JP version, triangle to open the command menu, square to move to another location and change battle tactics in dungeons, and touch screen to access wifi functions.

Conclusion:
In conclusion this game was in my eyes a great JRPG and for anyone who likes games like Final Fantasy, Chrono trigger, any Shin Megami Tensei games, or even any of the persona games before this one you really should give it a go you will definitely not be disappointed.

My Ratings:
Plot: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 9/10
Controls: 10/10
Fun Factor: 9.5/10
Overall: 9.5/10

Pros:

Its an extremely long game as Ive played about 180 hours of this game and still not 100%.

Amazing CGI

Social links was an amazing feature to this game

Cons:

Persona 4 Golden is only on PS Vita however you can get Persona 4 on the PS2.

TV World stages can get a bit boring at times, especially if you just want to progress with the storyline.

You might not have the time to play this game due to how long it is.
