Gameplay

BombSqaud was originally a mac exclusive, but has now been carried over onto the android over the years. You start the game with a little tutorial explaining the certain power-ups, weapons, and controls to help you get started. There are a wide range of power-ups from Ice-Bombs that make enemies freeze in place, to boxing gloves that make you punch harder, faster, better, and stronger. You can play either co-op campaign solo or with 3 other friends, Team competitions with 2-8 friends, or free-for-all with 2-8 friends. You and your friends can play together with controllers such as xbox 360 controllers or even keyboards which sets this game apart from the rest. When playing campaign there are 10 levels with an easy and hard level difficulty. The objectives of the levels change every time. For example, there are onslaught levels where you have to defeat waves of enemies, and then there are little mini games levels where you play football and try to score the flag to the enemies goal. These mini-games make the game really fun and extremely competitive as well. On onslaught mode you have to defeat waves of enemies by either punching ,throwing, or bombing them. Physics in the game add difficultly while playing as you have to time your throws as well as your speed so you won't damage yourself. Players also have momentum so running can be tricky on certain maps as you could fall off. This game was meant to be played as a party game and I really think they did a great job. The amount of controller varieties as well as game types and customization makes it a great game to play with all of your friends. There are also challenges that you can unlock while you play the game which keeps the players back for more. Tournaments are also held in the game rewarding you with tickets that you can use to buy more mini-games and maps. Team death match offers 3 playlists to play with your friends. These playlists are default tdm, capture the flag, and sports. Free-for-all offers 3 playlists as well and are different from the tdm playlists. These playlists are default free-for-all, just death match, and just epic. I really like these playlists as they all have there own little twist to it making it chaotic and extremely fun. Overall I haven't ran into any glitches while playing and I really do enjoy playing this game.

Graphics

I am running this game on my android phone and the graphics look amazing. This 3d game is by far the best I have seen lately and they have put tons of time into creating a great looking game. The menu has this realistic look to it and I really like how certain tabs pop out. The 3d models for characters and power-ups have amazing amounts of detail and each player looks and feels unique. The effects from throwing bombs to punching players looks excellent. The lighting and shadows are the best I have seen on any apps I have played so far. Bombs exploding light up the area and particles from the ground and bomb brighten the sky and look amazing. When winning onslaught matches the map lights up with flashing colors and when it shines and bounces off the ground it looks very realistic. Maps have their own type of atmosphere and setting and it really sets the gameplay up for an immersive experience. Each power-up and ability has their own little effect which makes every action unique. Overall I think they did an amazing job with the graphics as this is one of the best looking apps I have played.

Controls

The controls in this game are fairly simple and they have a tutorial on how to use the controls in the beginning of the game. On the bottom right there are four buttons, the blue (pick up) button grabs flags, players, and anything else not stuck into the ground. The red button (bomb) lets your character throw bombs out to destroy his enemies. The green (jump) button allows you to jump across small gaps and to throw things higher. And finally the yellow button (punch) punches nearby enemies. Moving your character is by holding the left side of your screen and moving it in the direction you want to go. The controls are extremely simple in this game and are easy to get used to. Overall I think these controls can be easy to learn in a matter of minutes and I think they did a great job with the look of the UI.
