Synopsis:

'ORION: Prelude' is an indie Sci-Fi shooter (FPS/TPS) that seamlessly blends together incredible visuals and addictive combat. It puts you and your friends together into intense, cinematic battles using some of the most incredible weaponry and amazing vehicles in which you must work or compete against one another to accomplish mission objectives, explore giant worlds and survive the devastating Dinosaur Horde.

Story:

Welcome soldier to the most dangerous mission of your entire life. It will be up to you and your squad to take the most advanced weapons human kind has ever seen and defend our generators against anything that attacks. Be forewarned though your enemy is not any normal enemy you would normally see in battle. You will be fighting against dinosaurs! You will need to make sure you and your squad are ready to fight to the death to defend our generators. Be careful these dinosaurs are a lot smarter then you might imagine. They will be ready to fight and kill you if you do not kill them first. With that said good luck and see you on the battlefield.

Gameplay:

Origin: Prelude is a game you do not normally see. This first-person shooter (FPS) is completely different from other (FPS) games. Instead of fighting other humans you are instead fighting dinosaurs. This is what makes this game quite interesting and intense at the same time. It will be up to you and your squad to do different missions in order to defeat the dinosaurs. With all the weapons and vehicles to use to your advantage you will for sure give those dinosaurs a fight. with all the customization this game has to offer and different game modes you can play with your friends this is a very cheap game to pick up that you and your friends can enjoy for a few hours. Overall I think this game is decent with a good idea behind it but do not buy it expecting to get more then three hours out of it before you start getting bored.

Orion: Prelude does have a lot of potential going for it, I think in the near future this game will become what it should of been a year ago. The game play is really fun and can get intense at times when you have a T-rex charging at you and all you have left is a pistol. I really enjoy playing this game with friends. It is really fun watching one of your friends being taken away by a dinosaur and all you can do is try to chase it down and save them. With there being so few game modes it does get a bit boring after a few hours but most likely you will find yourself coming back to this game from time to time. The idea behind it is really neat and is good but for some reason this game never got to the potential I think it could have. The population online is still pretty good you can always find a game to join whenever you get on (this is as of right now). The customization is pretty cool and interesting sense you get your own avatar to customize almost anyway you really want to. I think this is one of the best things this game has going for it at the moment. This game is updated pretty often as well the developers are sticking with it at the moment and do update the game from time to time. If you feel the need to take the dinosaurs to extinction then I would get this game because this is what exactly what you will get. If you are looking for a competitive multiplayer then this game is not going to be for you.

Graphics:

Orion: Prelude can at some points be very hard to play because of graphics. Especially when there is a bunch of little green dinosaurs coming at you and you can barely see them because they blend into the shadow of a rock or tree. I am not sure why the developers decided to take the graphical aspect of the game the way they did. I personally do not like the graphics but I do know there is some people that like the older looking graphics on games. Even with the overall graphics being a tad disappointing the actual maps you play on are pretty impressive when it comes to the graphics. There is always a lot going on around you no matter were you are at on one of the maps. Overall I was not impressed with the graphics and think that they could have been so much better, but with this said it does not completely ruin the game either.

Controls:

The controls for Orion: Prelude are pretty easy to learn. All the basic controls are just like any of your other standard PC first-person shooter (FPS). I like the controls actually and think they fit the game really well. If you are having trouble learning the more advanced controls it can be hard to find a good tutorial to learn off of. I personally just had to ask people in game how to do certain things and for the most part all the people I came across were really nice and helpful. Overall the controls are good and fit the game well. You can play this game just knowing the basic controls.

Overall:

Gameplay: 8/10
Graphics: 7/10
Controls: 9/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Extras:

As of right now this game is only a dollar and I think for a dollar it is worth picking up. I personally would not purchase this game if it was over five dollars. This game is not for everyone but some of you will find this game really fun.
