Synopsis
NBA 2K15 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the sixteenth installment of the NBA 2K franchise. It was released on October 7, 2014 in North America for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. It was released on October 9, 2014 in Australia and it was released on October 10, 2014 in the rest of the world. Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, one of the three cover athletes of NBA 2K13, is the solo cover athlete of NBA 2K15. NBA 2K15 is the successor to NBA 2K14 in the NBA 2K series.
Plot
The plot of this game is in the MyCAREER mode, where you experiance a new story line behind the scene of a young baller trying to make it into the NBA, but did not get drafted. You start out with nothing and have to pick a team that has interest in you for a tryout, then you have to tryout and see if you are worthy enough. You then will either be turned down or given 10 days (4 games) to show them what you got! Get good grades and do good, you make it. Do bad, you get cut, simple. Once you find a team you play with this team and eventually work your way up the ranks and get yourself noticed as a player.
Gameplay
The game play in this 2k game is like no other, they added quite a lot to this one that many of you will thoroughly enjoy! The angles they added are very top notch, also the pro stick(right analogue stick) is used for a TON of different dribble techniques as well as shooting, dunking, and lay ups. This becomes extremely handy only using one stick for a LOT of things! The animations this game has is also incredible, there are so many awesome custimizable things you can do with your character! Although I may say for you xbox users that try the face scan through kinect... Does not work out very well! There is also a MyTEAM and this is the fantasy basketball aspect of the game where you can build your dream team with cards from every era by either earning or buying MyTEAM card packs. You can also buy or sell these in the new Auction House!
The multiplayer aspect of this game is also pretty outstanding, there is a MyPARK where your player can meet up with others on server set courts and play either Rival Day Tournaments, squad up with your friends, or play NBA rules in the Jordan Rec Center! This gives players a lot of options to have a ton of fun on multiplayer to show off their skills and do a lot of awesome things on the court. This is also very fun playing with friends!
Graphics
The graphics on this game are like no other NBA, I can honestly say that the graphics are outstanding. The animations of EVERY player in the NBA look just like the player in real life. You can see the sweat of the player after a hard played game and it is awesome to see things like that in a game with not a huge graphic based drive. The court, the people in the stands, the shoes on the players feet, it all looks very real and gives the game a lot better feel and more incline to play it! You can tell there is a lot of detail put into the graphics of this game, every player looks real and the jerseys look outstanding. Every detail is top notch and it just gives the game that much more pizzazz!
Controls
The controls are a lot like every other NBA2k games, but this game has incorperated a lot more with the pro stick(right analouge stick) as I mentioned earlier. I will admit, if you are new to NBA games, then it will be hard to get use to at first because there is a LOT of different things that go into the mechanics and controls of this game. So the controls are not very easy to get down, takes a lot of practice!
Pros/Cons
Pros:
1. The multiplayer is challenging and fun, will keep you addicted!
2. The additions to this game from every other 2K game is incredible
3. MyPark and MyTeam are better than ever
4. The animations and graphics are top notch
5. The soundtrack on the game fits it very well
Cons:
1. It is a bit pricey, $59.99 usd
2. It takes a lot of practice if you are new to NBA games
3. Sometimes your teammates get fouls and you may want to throw your contoller at a wall
