My rant starts off with them being a crap company.

First they're taking down videos of AW mods for "Copyright Infringement"
Now they're taking down DOWNLOADS ON MEDIAFIRE of AW modding tools/bypasses.
For guess what?
COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.

Did I forget to say there was other users also mentioning on various forums complaining of copyright strikes for freaking glitch videos>

Activision really has to get their head outa their ass before they get sued by tons of people.

Seriously, Activisions only defence option is "Copyright infringement" on things that ARE NOT EVEN COPYRIGHTED.

It is odd that they are claiming copyright infringement, but I can completely understand why they are removing the modding videos from youtube and taking the mods available for download off of the internet. They see it as cheating and tampering. I personally have no problem with modding, but if they want to take that away from the gaming community then they have every right to do so. It's their game.

Activision removed videos that contain their content. Thats it period. They own all content, They are legally allowed to take down anything if it includes their content.

As for the mods, It clearly states that it was a violation of 'Terms of service' nothing to do with copyright infringement. Although creating mods is in breach of Activisions terms of service anyway as seen here;

3. The license rights granted to you herein are also subject to the limitations set forth below. Any use of the Product in violation of these limitations is a material breach of the Agreement, subjects you to immediate revocation of your license, and will be regarded as an infringement of Activision's copyrights and other rights in and to the Product. You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:

A. use, develop, host or distribute cheats, automation software (bots), modded lobbies, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software in connection with the Product, or engage in any form of cheating, boosting, or booting;

B. exploit or reverse engineer the Product (or any of its parts), for any commercial purpose, including without limitation (a) to enable use at a cyber cafe, computer gaming center or any other location-based site without the express written consent of Activision; (b) for gathering in-game currency, items or resources for sale outside the Product; (c) performing in-game services in exchange for payment outside the Product, e.g., power-leveling; or (d) the sale of accounts, log-in information, or other Product materials, access, or rights;

C. use any unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Product;

D. except as authorized by Activision in writing, host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Product, or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Activision in any way, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized play over the internet, network play, or as part of content aggregation networks;

E. facilitate, create or maintain any unauthorized connection to the Product, including without limitation (a) any connection to any unauthorized server that emulates, or attempts to emulate, the Product; and (b) any connection using programs or tools not expressly approved by Activision in writing;

F. violate any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of Product;

G. disrupt or assist in the disruption of: (i) any computer, device or server used to support the Product; or (ii) any other player's use of a Product. ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT THE PRODUCT OR UNDERMINE ITS LEGITIMATE OPERATION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS;

H. interfere or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Product in any way through any means or device including, but not limited to, launching a denial of service attack, spamming, hacking, or uploading computer viruses or time bombs; or

I. reproduce, distribute, display, transfer or use any part of the Product except as expressly authorized by Activision.

As you can see, they are well within their rights to do all of those things as you breached their terms of service by creating the mods and then attempting to distribute those mods. It does not matter which way you look at it, from a legal standpoint...You lose.

You are complaining that they are too good of a company, literally.

They have every right to take down any video they want. If I was apart of Activision, I would do the same.

This has nothing to do about your situation, but they truly are a shit company. They ruin so many games because they love being cheap. It's awful. I highly dislike Activision.

Lol @ all the users calling Activision a shit company. You have no idea how companies work, and no clue of how well they are truly doing, do you?

Activision is doing just fine and to say they are ruthless would be correct. Ignorant however, only makes you sound ignorant. The company is doing better than ever and do you think that just because a couple of the people that buy their games are pissed off that is going to change anything? Wrong. You would have to make the majority of the players of the company's game mad for them to ever think about changing their ways.

How are they a bad company for taking down videos of mods/glitches and downloads for mod tools that would ruin their game? It's a good move on their part and I'm glad they are taking action against these people and trying to make the virtual battlefield more fair to the players who don't do any of what you described. Last thing I want to do Is get on a map and my gameplay experience being ruined because someone Is glitching inside a wall and can not be killed all because he looked up glitching videos or people getting to the max rank because they found someone who hosts modded lobbies. In the long run this also prevents more possible bans because less people will find others that mod the game. The only thing I don't understand about this Is them using the copyright card but other than that, GG Activision
