I bought this mouse from Amazon last year and I never ended up getting it to work.

Mouse: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

When I plug the mouse in the lights come on when I plug the mouse into the PC so it must be functional.

I don't know if I need to install a driver for a mouse or.. I just don't know but anyone that could help me not only would I appreciate it but I would also give some rep.

If possible I would like to do this over Teamviewer anyone with great knowledge of optical drives would be even more useful.

From a review on this mouse [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
we can see that it does not need drivers,so that option as to why it is not working is off the list. Second option since you said that you had it for a year now, more than likely the warranty is probably expired, so you can't rma it. Your only real options left are to either open up the mouse and try and see if there is anything physically wrong with it or you will have to purchase a new mouse unfortunately.

Try deleting its driver in device manager and plugging it in again. It will be under "Mice and other pointing devices."
