This review is for Single Player ONLY. I feel as though someone can review the Multiplayer part better than I can as I have not played much of it as of yet.

Info
Title: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Genre: Action
Developer: Sledgehammer Games , Raven Software
Publisher: Activision
Release Date: 3 Nov, 2014
Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4

Synopsis
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. It is the eleventh primary installment in the Call of Duty series and the first developed primarily by Sledgehammer Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 4, 2014. Also, a Day Zero Edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released on November 3, the day before the classic game was released. It featured double XP for the first day and two exclusive guns. It was announced that Sledgehammer Games will not be developing Advanced Warfare for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that High Moon Studios would be developing these editions instead. Advanced Warfare is the first game in the series to be created in a three-year development cycle, rather than two years as in previous Call of Duty games. It is the first main series Call of Duty game to not see a release on a Nintendo platform since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Gameplay/Story - No Spoilers
Now, when I first heard about this game I was very skeptical about it, like I'm sure many of you were. But I was pleasantly surprised at what the outcome was, the game features a truly first class campaign that keeps you gripped until the very end with a cliffhanger leaving it open for another addition to the Advanced Warfare series. The game starts out in a cinematic preview of Jack Mitchell and Will Irons. Jack Mitchell is the character you will be portraying throughout the game with Will Mitchell as your best friend. Once you get int the actual playing of the game it just goes to show how much effort was put in as it feels almost perfect to how a FPS game should feel. Other things that have changed for the better is the HUD, in all other Call of Duty's before it has always been a HUD, but in Advanced Warfare it is more a sort of a Holographic Projection from the weapon equipped. The general gun play of the game has not changed apart from new game mechanics, for example the player can now choose between conventional firearms and laser or energy directed weaponry, both of these feature different abilities.

Now I know many were worried if not disappointed about another Call of Duty being set in the future, but the way this one has gone I feel as though the series needed this, Call of Duty has been the same old for a while now, but Advanced Warfare really brings something new to the table, such as Exo Suits and Energy directed weaponry, never before seen in a Call of Duty. I myself was a bit worried about the use of Exo suit abilities, but it opens up a whole new world to maps and discovery. The campaign itself is quite lengthy with it taking me a fair few hours to complete, and in every missions is was completely hooked till i got it done. Which is also rare in a Call ofDuty since the majority of them are Multiplayer focused.

Controls
Now, I am reviewing the PC version of Advanced Warfare so this may differ a little.

The controls are very flexible really, while the default mapping is decent i had to change a few things across the keyboard and mouse to my liking, but with the user friendliness of the menu it was very easy to do. Now of course this game has full controller support to suit every type of gamer possible, and you can even map the buttons to what you want on the controller, so i cant say anything 'bad' about it. The controlling of the player in Advanced Warfare is very smooth, while there is a lot going on around you in the environment it is very easy to control the Exo suit and where it goes, it's just learning the buttons is the hard bit due to lots of different variations in grenades and Exo suit abilities. In some cases your suit will have 3 different abilities that are labelled on the HUD so they are hard to miss but difficult to understand.

Graphics
By far the best I have seen in a Call of Duty, the cinematic graphics are spectacular, the detail and texture quality is second to none, honestly. Call of Duty has never been "Graphics optimised" in my opinion, they have always gone more for ease of use and smoothness of play, but in this game they have all 3. The terrain detail is amazing along with most of the other graphical parts of thi game. The only bug bear i have with it is the way some of the AI move, some of them look like robots when they move which makes the game seem scripted at times. but hey no game is perfect in every sector. But the part I'm most impressed with is the between mission cinematics, the detail that was used is astounding. It makes i look like a film, and that isn't even a joke. The characters have such smooth transitions with even the surroundings acting as they would in real life. The textures from everything are really nice, guns look like they have character and look like they could be based of real weapons in the future.

Just overall astounded that s much time and effort was put into the graphical side of Advanced Warfare, definitely the best looking Call of Duty to date, and by a mile!

Overview
So, the main question i have seen about this game is this. Is it Good?

In short, yes it is. Advanced Warfare has by far the best campaign i have come across in a Call of Duty, now i know this is personal preference but it is 'my' favourite. it has everything, gripping storyline, great graphics, easy controls and women with guns... What more can i guy want huh?

I have yet to play the campaign mode of this game yet, I'm sure it'll be interesting. Hopefully a little better than online play.

I rate this Game 8/10.

Reason: The servers are bad, The guns are bad, the game is very poorly set out and the Game generally needs some serious attention.

The campaign was amazing in my opinion.
It had a great story line with great characters.
Advanced Warfare stepped up their game with the campaign compared to the others I think. Probably one of the longest ones also.

9.5/10 for me.
