If you haven't already, I strongly suggest watching Naoki Urasawa's Monster. The anime has really strong, seemingly real characters. You will really like this anime if other anime, such as Death Note or Code Geass struck your fancy. A bit of horror, but mostly mystery and is just a straight up good plot. The only down-side I would say is the occasional slow parts, however those are VERY few and far between. I enjoyed this anime, and if anyone has any other anime similar, I'd love to watch them. I'm big on the anime that, while maybe not TOO realistic, have that "make you think" quality about them.

How do people like any manga better than the anime? To me manga is just reading a comic book while anime you're able to get sucked in and intrigued.

Yea that anime is a great one for sure. I liked detective Lunge he was a beast! And that women that left Tenma because he lost his job was cool too only when she actually helped Tenma and saw the error of her ways. It's one of my favorites btw.

I personally liked Monster, also highly recommending it to those who have not tried it. The show sits on the more dark, suspenseful side of the spectrum and really challenges one to push their boundaries a little and step out of their comfort zone. It had me on the edge of my seat for the duration of the show and whilst it can be considered mundane at some rare points (Its a 74 episode show so it's to be expected) for the most part i found it extremely enjoyable

Manga often times is a lot better than anime because anime tends to exclude some information about characters and stuffs because it just doesn't fir the budget. I used to think the same way about manga but then started reading the manga to an anime that I just finished and noticed how much was left out sometimes...
