Synopsis
If you think roads are too restricting, then race with vehicles that are designed to leave the asphalt in TEST DRIVE OFF ROAD 2. Race through several locations in World Tour to gain the top spot.

Gameplay
In the second installment of the Test Drive Offroad series, players will continue to race through the thick brush, sandy beaches, dirt and icy roads, snow, and deserts. Players will get to race in multiple types of vehicles like the Hummer, Jeep Wrangler, Range Rover, Ford, Dodge Ram and other vehicles made to take on the off-road racing. Players will take on five other racers in a race. The races are mainly checkpoint races or point to point races. Some checkpoint races will also have a set time limit in which players must reach the next checkpoint before the time runs out in order to gain more time. Players will race in multiple locations like Hawaii, Wales, Morocco, and even the Mojave Desert. On certain races, the weather will also be a factor as the stormy weather will rain causing multiple puddles of water to form during the race which would cause problems when vehicles were to steer over them and slow racers down as well. Obstacles like fences, trees and certain animals will block the racers path and must avoid driving into them.

Graphics
The graphics weren't all that great, but remember that this game came out over a decade ago so the graphics back then aren't what we average players expect now on these new games of this era. The details for the most part were well done for the vehicles, excluding the overall quality of the vehicle itself. The overall environment like trees, bushes and shrubs had minimal details implemented to them. It was also repetitive seeing the exact same design and looks of trees and bushes placed next to each other. The puddles of water were easy to see since the light blue color really made it stand out on the road. The splashes when driving over the puddles was minimal, just a faint little splash. Overall, the graphics were pretty bad and really didn't appeal to me one bit. But like I said, this game is over a decade old.

Controls
The controls are much alike the controls seen on other games of the racing genre. The button layouts for commands are nothing new to any player that has played a racing game before. Racing games this old such as this really didn't have the need for extra options as long as players could look behind them, slow down and accelerate. Overall, the controls are the standard for many racing games and shouldn't be a hassle.

Rating
