Publishers: EA Pogo
Platforms: PC. Windows
Genre: Puzzle
Players: 1

Synopsis
Part of EA Pogo's "To Go" series, Poppit! To Go brings the popular title played by millions on the Internet to retail shelves. Similar in style to other puzzle titles, such as Sega Swirl and Super Collapse! II, Poppit! To Go offers three games -- "Classic," "Puzzle," and "Action" -- in which the object is to score points by popping groups of colored balloons. Players can convert points into tokens that can be entered into daily prize drawings on the EA Pogo website.

Gameplay
This classic game is sure to bring back those who really enjoyed old puzzle games like this. In this game, players would have to pop two or more matching balloons of the same color. That was the main purpose of this game. Poppit featured three different gametypes to play from. These gametypes were: Puzzle, Classic, and Action. In Puzzle, players were to solve one hundred challenging balloon puzzles by matching every single colored balloon that was on the level. If even one balloon was left unmatched, the player would have to either start over the level or undo their last move. If a player realized ahead of time that they made a mistake, they can just click on the undo command to undo that last move. Since there is no time limit on this gametype, players could easily take their time figuring out which set of balloons to pop first. The next gametype, Classic had players pop different colored balloons in order to raise the row of balloons towards the top of the level to release the prizes hidden inside the balloons. Along with popping multiple balloons and releasing prizes, players would also earn points for doing so. The more balloons popped in a single go, the points are earned. This gametype only featured one level so once the player successfully completed the level, they could basically redo the entire level again which wasn't all that fun. It would have been better if the gametype featured more levels and different prizes from the balloons to give more variety. And the last gametype Action, was a fast paced game in which players would have to continuously pop as many matching balloons as possible before the balloons reaching the bottom where spikes were laid on the ground that would pop them. Action also contained an endless amount of rounds so players could go as far as they could before they were to succumb to their loss. As the player were to progress through multiple sets of levels, the difficulty would increase. These difficulties would be more colored balloon variants and a faster speed for when new rows of balloons would spawn in.

Graphics
With Poppit being an old game, the graphics were of standard quality. The game had its up and downs when playing the game as it would sometimes slow down and the quality would be distorted and look very unclear to see whats happening in the game. The colors of the balloons were although textured well to give that full bright color to pop out from amongst the rest of the other colored balloons. If new players of this era were to switch from playing newer games to this, they would most definitely think the graphics are terrible, but graphics like this were like the top quality back then and still manages to show decent graphics even in this era. The wording in the game isn't all that clear due to it looking a bit fuzzy and distorted. The details and visual characteristics on the cactus trophies were very unique and showed great variety in the types of cactus trophies earned after completing a level. The background in the game isn't all that exciting as it looks bland and shows really no focal point in which the player's eye would get drawn to. Overall, the graphics as of now aren't what many would consider top quality, but still appealed to players that had played it in the past.

Controls
The controls for Poppit are very simple and really has only one command for players to use. Like most puzzle games like Bejeweled and Fishdom, players will use the mouse as the main control to perform any action in the game. This is an easy hands on game that really at any age that a person can properly use their hands, should be able to play this game without any problems due to the game's simplistic controls. Regardless playing on either a PC or laptop, neither had any mouse control problems at all during gameplay. Overall, the controls are nothing advanced even for a beginner player. A new player to the PC world should give this game a try first as its simple, fun and a classic.

I remember this game from my grandma nonetheless actually lol

My grandma had this on her PC and she played it all the time. Then, when she went to bed, I would get on there and play it.

Great game, and good review. Keep up the good work, sir.
