A simple thread for those of ya'll who are looking for something to watch. Post some of your interest or shows you like for others to suggest you shows that match your interests.

Suggest me something with action with the main character on a journey of sorts.

I'm pretty much obsessed with Mirai Nikki and Guilty Crown, what are some good ones kind of like those?

Also, good shows with Yandere characters as I REALLY enjoyed Yuno's part in Mirai Nikki.

Thank!

Well i'll just start with posting some general recommendations for everyone to see.

Well this is hands down the best show i have seen to date and subsequently one of my two shows that i have rated 10. While you need to watch the first season, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (which is in my opinion good, but quite mediocre) prior to watching after story it is well worth the wait. In summary, it depicts both a touching, heartbreaking and compelling story revolving around the concepts of personal growth, change and loss. Showing you both the highs and lows of the emotional spectrum. Being a slice of life anime you can't expect anything along the lines of action but if you are looking for a good tearjerker this show is the best in its class. It made me laugh, it made me cry, but most importantly it changed my perspective on the world. I give it the highest possible recommendation and suggest you all check it out

If you are looking for an anime placed on an epic scale this is the show for you. Being the second show i have given a 10 in the past ~3 years i have to say that while the art style is a little dated (honestly try not to let it put you off), this is definitely a show that you will never forget. Before stating anything more, i'll start off with saying that this show is 110 episodes long, hence requiring a significant time sink, so if long shows are not your thing you may want to think twice before picking it up. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a space opera which explores the notions of both politics and war over a period of around ~60 years. Providing you with an insight into both sides of the war and the consequences that result. When i say "epic scale" i mean space battles with millions of troops, political events that shape the face of the entire galaxy, and a lengthy yet engaging depiction of an entire era unfolding. It's honestly hard to explain this entire show because i can go on for hours, so if you are at all interested i highly suggest looking further into it

While sitting on the darker, more suspenseful end of the spectrum monster is with no doubt an amazing show. Providing you with a story filled with mystery, suspense and intrigue monster explores the journey of Japanese doctor, Kenzo Tenma attempting to discover the true identity of a child turned murderer, turning himself into a fugitive as a result. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire show and truly make you wonder about certain aspects of life in the modern world. Now here is the great thing about the this show, my above synopsis may not be necessarily accurate

Are you a closed minded school life watching plebeian? because i definitely was before watching this show. Mobile Suit Gundam Seed is a Gundam show, and that kind of speaks for itself. It depicts the journey of the protagonist Kira Yamato and his experiences with the surrounding war, taking place between two factions. Depicting an emotionally gripping story revolving around character development and a change in individual opinion. When i say character development there is a lot of it going on, each character undergoing a variety of changes from episode to episode. Also providing you with an insight into the un-justification of both factions, this show being far from a good vs. evil robots are cool battle. This is an excellent entry show into the Gundam franchise and i guarantee that you will get hooked

still sitting there completely neglecting the show because of the mecha genre? let me debunk some myths

  • Most Mecha shows are not childish, often more psychological and mature than most shows from different genres. Just because you watched Transformers or otherwise when you where young and didn't like it does not mean that this is not for you. It's this exact perception that held me back for around 2 years
  • This show is very far from anything related to the power of friendship and love. Whilst it has a romance aspect incorporated into the subplot that's about as close as you will get
  • Not all Mecha shows are based around the robots, while you come to understand that the robots are awesome after a while most shows in the Gundam franchise are based around emotional journey, growth and political development. (even if you think the mechs are 'embarrassing', how about you go and tell your parents about that awesome new harem show you watched)

I highly recommend that all of you guys who haven't watched any Mecha anime at least give the first episode a try

Before i start, i have to first say do not let the artstyle put you off. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the best action show i have seen to date, revolving around well... more or less manly men doing manly things. This is a show that will get your Adrenalin pumping and give you that feeling of anticipation from episode to episode, keeping you on the edge of your seat for the duration. As for the plot synapses, manly men with ripple powers fighting immortal vampires, yes you heard me. Everyone i have recommended this show to has given it a 9 or over so i highly recommend you watch it, i promise that you won't be disappointed

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Rating: 9/10

Look at the plot synapses... interested yet? this show has an excellent premise and executes it exceptionally well. With a gripping story, great characterization and excellent art and story this is definitely a show that you don't want to overlook. While it is 11 episodes long you should also take a look at the 2 movies that act as sequels, holding up to if not exceeding the quality of the original

Major is the definition of underrated. If you are looking for an emotionally inspiring story about passion, devotion and eventual triumph you can't get much better than this. The show revolves around the concept of baseball, yet don't think you need to know anything about it to enjoy the show... i personally knew absolutely nothing about baseball and still loved it. This show captures the development of the main protagonist, Goro as he grows from a young child to a father himself in hand with the development of his baseball career. His passion for the game and emotional struggles throughout the seasons making it a very interesting watch whilst changing you as a person. This was the first, an in my opinion the best dedicated sports anime i have ever seen, as i said with Gundam seed don't be closed minded when it comes to the genre, or anything to do with anime in general. If you like sports anime, are looking for a way to get into the genre or simply looking for an interesting watch, this show is highly recommended

Well those are my basic recommendations regarding 7 of the best shows i have watched so far. I'll look into adding to this in the future but for now you guys should really take a look at some of these.
