Synopsis:

KAMI is deceptively simple: fold out coloured paper to fill the screen in as few moves as possible. Relaxing and easy to pick up, you'll soon find yourself deep in contemplation to perfect each puzzle. Created by State of Play, famous for their handcrafted aesthetic, KAMI has been created with real paper in an elegant Japanese theme. (Courtesy of Steam)

Gameplay:

KAMI is more than likely the first puzzle game I have invested more than 30 minutes into (especially In on sitting). The gameplay is smooth and elegant, and even better simple. You start of with a sheet of paper that is multiple different colors, you then are given a set of attempts to complete the puzzle. Complete it on Par with the attempts given and you will be awarded the "Perfect" Badge, Your are also given a selection of colors at the bottom that you must select and fill the paper in completely with. Surprisingly I found myself multiple times restarting the level multiple times just to get that stupid badge and spending long periods of time on one simple puzzle to discover how Stupid I am at not noticing how to do it. Im also pleased with the amount of levels that are given and the fact that its your choice what color you use to fill in the entire background. How ever after a few hours of playing I found the game to be quite frustrating as each levels seems to only have 1 way to complete it. Theres a few that had multiple ways of completion but most only had 1 way to complete the puzzle and still get a good rating. However this is probably one of the most rewarding puzzle games I have played (More than likely because I don't play much puzzle games) But I found that after each level I Felt a high level of success and appreciation for my so called "intelligence". This might be the smoothest playing puzzle game I've played to date (*Note I've played like 3 in my entire life)

Graphics:

The graphics in this game I have to say are Simple, Simple yet Beautiful. Even though its just a set of 3 different color squares the graphics are smooth and clean. The levels how ever sometimes do form something that actually kinda looks like a picture or image (a few did look a little like animals). I how ever do not like how the graphics/ Mostly the squares and paper have a Grainy look to them and with my weird eyes cause strain sometimes and hurt once in and a while (I have weird eyes so this may only be me.) Anyway back to the original review: What does really disappoint me however is the fact after about an hour the levels/graphics seem pretty plain and blank and not as beautiful as before. This can cured by stop playing them game and taking a break. But I might as well let you judge for your selves (Beware Ingame may differ.)

Controls:

Just Like Cinders this game literally needs no review for the controls as KAMI only has one. But even though there is only one it is perfect. You simply click on the square and it will color all of the same color squares as long as their touching vertically or horizontal. I personally don't like how simple they are but I Understand considering this is also on mobile ( controls are the same but you simply touch instead of clicking) I do wish how ever there was more controls or hotkeys for the colors but you can't ask much from a simple game such as this

Overview of the controls (I know My image sucks):

Personal Feedback:

Im not big on puzzle games but if there was one I would consider Being good (In my opinion) and recommend to other people it would be this one. I love its simplicity, the ease of use, but I do hate how the graphics mess with my eyes after long play sessions. I however will not be playing this game much after this review as it causes to much eye strain for me. I would recommend it, but I would not pay the $4 for it on steam unless you actually Like puzzle games, I would how ever consider getting it for mobile. But other than that this game is really good.

Gameplay: 9.5/10
