Synopsis
Everyone's favorite Tasmanian Tiger returns to take back the Outback this fall in TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2. TY, the wild yet charismatic, boomerang wielding Tasmanian Tiger will lead players through a brilliantly animated new 3D adventure set in the ruggedness and splendor of Australia.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 picks up where the original popular action platform game left off. The cast of characters from Down Under has grown, and so has the action! Evil Boss Cass has broken out of Currawong Jail and hatched a plan to take over the world with an army of Uber Reptiles. It's up to our boomerang-wielding hero, TY, and his newly formed team of Burramudgee Bush Rescue mates to stop him!

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 offers platform gamers a huge open environment to explore by foot and vehicle. Gamers can now enjoy more excitement and adventure, with more boomerangs, "Mech units" with special powers and abilities, off-road open world action, and a wide variety of gameplay styles.

Gameplay
This game is the second installment of the Ty series and has the same basic mechanics of boomeranges being your weapons, but this game also adds some driving in which the first game didn't have. This game is set in Southern Rivers, and it is a rural countryside in which small towns and villages lie within. Ty now has access to trucks, mech suits, submarines, turrets, and karts. This game is great like the last installment, but BETTER!

Plot
Following where the last game left off, where Ty beat Cass and had his family are returned to Rainbow Cliffs. They detained the evil Cass instead of killing him in show of good faith, later Ty and his girlfriend Shazza are informed that Cass has escaped and set up his own country called Cassopolis, also good to know he tells people that he now has diplomatic immunity. Dennis has formed "Bush Rescue" an organization to stop Cass. As part of the organization Ty goes out transporting things, rounding up more members, etc

Story
The story within this game is the great, just like the last game in the series was. They add a girlfriend for Ty, vehicles, his good ole' boomerangs, and much much more! This game is a little more open world that the last game was allowing the player to go mostly where they please within this game with no forced scripted areas. The game is fun, and also brings back some of the characters from the other game as well as adding some new ones.

Graphics
The graphics of this game followed in the same footsteps as the previous game in the fact that the graphics of both games are great. The game was released in 2004 and was well ahead of it's competition. They do this game glory just like they did the last game by making characters look mostly the same, the world beautiful, and the boomerangs really cool!

Controls
The controls of this game follow the lasts. This game's controls are that of a platformmer which is what this game actually is, and therefore the controls are simple and they are also easy to learn. No one should have a hard time picking a controller up for this game and playing the game. There are a couple of different control layouts, however, I feel that the default is the best choice for most players.

Ratings
Gameplay - 8.5/10
Plot - 8.5/10
Story - 8.5/10
Controls - 8/10
Graphics - 9/10
Overall - 9.5/10

Personal Note: I actually played this game before I played the original. I ended uo playing all three within the series, but this was the first game and it had me hooked from the first time I put it into my PS2. It's a great game, and it makes you use your brain as well as teaching you lessons that I remember even today! Well worth a play and maybe even a purchase.
