Synopsis
It's animal anarchy! Shackled and forced to work together, Spanx and Redmond are fugitives on the run from an unscrupulous product-testing lab before they undergo one more demented animal experiment. As Spanx, you will use the disgruntled Redmond as your tool and weapon to not only escape, but also to free other enslaved animals and sabotage the evil corporation.

Chain Gang features a shackled animal duo on a mission to escape and sabotage an evil animal product-testing corporation. Providing a groundbreaking approach to the character-based action genre, Chain Gang combines a unique "chain" gameplay mechanic with in-depth enemy and environment interaction, rich combat and slapstick humor. The result is an engaging game where player choice triggers an unscripted chain of chaotic, humorous events.

Gameplay
Although Redmond (rabbit) and Spanx (weasel) are chained up together the gameplay is still that of any other plat former. The player gets to take control of the weasel, Spanx. You get to use the rabbit, Redmond as a tool or as a weapon. Spanx has all the average/special platforming powers, and his indestructible friend, Redmond is invincible because of the experiments that have been performed on him allowing him to be used as a weapon, thrown into machinery, used as a grappling hook, and many many more uses. Lastly, Redmond can be inserted into certain outlets to be set on fire, frozen, or become radioactive.

Plot
The plot of this game is quite simplistic to say the least. The company known as Genron has been experimenting on animals and giving them all sorts of powers and abilities. This time around, they have made a weasel and a rabbit with enough IQ to think freely and make decisions on their own. And boy are they mad, the objective of the game is once they have been freed from their cages you are there to bankrupt the company and free as many other animals as you can. You free others, hurt the security guards and doctors, break machinery, etc. Basically, the company has a budget of $6 million and if you go past that then the company will be bankrupted and therefore nonexistent! Spanx and his furry partner in crime, Redmond are there to free their friends, hurt their foes, and break everything inside the company along the way!

Story
The storyline with this game is quite fun. It has the brain boosting fun of puzzles and platforming, as well as having the fun of destroying things and punishing the scientists and what not that hurt you and your friend, Redmond along with their other animal friends. This game is quite fun, and even though it is shorter than most games, it is still fun from start to finish. The game it's self is also quite funny in certain parts. Very fun games that I feel is worth a try to anyone who hasn't played it!

Graphics
The graphics within this game are lacking. They didn't match up to par with other games with 2003 release dates. The characters are nicely detailed, but that is about it. The scientific environment isn't detailed, guards and scientists aren't either, and there isn't a lot of color within the almost fully metal game world. All in all, the graphics need work, at best.

Controls
The controls of this game are actually quite smooth and flow freely. They seem as if they were meant to be the way that they are. You can easily run through platforms, and swing Redmond onto hooks and what not, all the while still completing objectives! The controls in this game are very smooth to say the least.

Ratings
Gameplay - 7/10
Plot - 7.5/10
Story - 8.5/10
Controls - 8/10
Graphics - 6/10
Overall - 7.5/10

Personal Note: This game is quite fun. It is also a different turn on games from most other games being FPS or racing games or things along those lines. It's a nice change of pace to be able to play as a couple of mad animals that are genetically engineered to raise some eyebrows, and some company price tags! This game is well worth a try and I would recommend this game to anyone!

Side Note: This game got ratings/reviews when it was first released saying that it was too cruel to animals and that it looked as if the game was made to show animal abuse and what not. Those rating were later dropped when the information that Redmond was an invincible/indestructible rabbit was released.
