Gameplay
In this game you play as a cop who is stationed within Vanguard City. You are also a father and a husband. This game revolves around a entirely new enemy coming into Vanguard City and you having to fight against them to find your missing family member(s). The game is also about the cop to learn a new way to fight since gravity is changed within this game to benefit the enemies instead of you, little does the enemy know that this cop has a high learning curve and figures out how to use gravity to his benefit as well. This game is a third person, co-op shooter that you and a friend or you and an AI can fight against this new found enemy. The game uses cover mechanics that no other game uses considering gravity is always changing in this game. There are also quite a few weapons and what not scattered around the world of Inversion.

Plot
In Vanguard City, Russell and his partner Delgado are cops and are on active police duty when the city becomes under attack by an army of unknown enemies. The enemies are referred to as the "Lutadores" and are equipped with gravity defying weaponry and are there to enslave humans into doing their dirty work. Russell and Delgado go and check on Russell's family and upon his arrival they find his wife, Cara hurt, and his daughter, Lelia missing. Cara later dies from her injuries and Russel and his partner are captured and put into the slave camp to dig tunnels for the Lutadores. A month into Thieu slave encampment they meet Fitzgerald, who consults them and many other workers there to start a Resistance movement fighting against the Lutadores. They later escape and they are fighting against the Lutadores and Russell is only kept alive by the hope that they will find his missing daughter along the way.

Story
The story within this game is actually quite fun. The fact that they mix a third person shooter and gravity weapons makes for a unique story experience. The game and story-line is actually quite in depth and has more than you would think to it. The game is fun from start to finish and will make you feel like a hero of the human race all while you are doing it. However, the small force of the Resistance compared to the huge force of the Lutadores is a little intimidating to say the least, so while feeling like a hero, you also feel somewhat like an underdog. The only complaint I have for this game's story is the fact that on ANY difficulty sometimes the enemies are really too strong. The enemy AI within this game is quite strong and very accurate which makes for a challenging enemy, but sometimes too challenging.

Graphics
The graphics within this game aren't anything to write home about. They are average graphics and there isn't anything special within this game in the graphics department. However, there are some sun lit scenes that are really beautiful because of where they are strategically placed. But this game isn't lacking in graphics either, they just aren't above average. Lastly, they yes the Saber3D engine in this game, along with the Havok physics engine hand in hand, and even though the graphics aren't amazing, they aren't bad either and don't look bad within this game.

Controls
The controls within this game are actually pretty common controls considering most other third person shooters use the same control layout. The controls are easy for anyone to pick up, use, and get used to. No complaints with the controls of this game. If I remember correctly, there is more than just the default control layout as well as there being other defaults and user customization button layouts. very solid control system for this game.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer in this game features two modes; online, and co-op. The co-op makes the game more fun in my opinion because you get to experience the game with a good buddy and fight a menacing force together, as well as seeing the story-line and sharing the same feelings together, bonding you closer as friends. However, the online multiplayer is lacking in my opinion. They chose to use the same game modes as many other games, Team death match, free for all, capture the flag, etc. Nothing is special about this game's multiplayer, but it also isn't a bad multiplayer experience either.

Personal Note: This game is actually really amazing in the fact that there is a new story-line/gaming experience with a new enemy literally out of this world, that has gravity altering weaponry. It makes for a fun game online and off, but more so if you play the game with a good friend so you both can have fun and play the game and share emotions and feelings while playing. This game is quite fun and well worth a try if you are looking for a new gaming experience.
