Synopsis
Twenty-five years in the future. Governments have outsourced military operations to private multinational corporations. As Jake Carpenter, a newly enlisted soldier in the Mantel army, you are seeking fulfillment and thrills by fighting for a good cause. Thanks to their high-tech arsenal of vehicles, deadly weaponry, and performance enhancing bio-medical support, the Mantel Corporation's ruthlessly efficient soldiers are the most feared by terrorists, dictators, and the corporation's political enemies. Your conflict begins in a war-torn country in South America, where you have been sent to fight a vicious rebel faction, The Promise Hand. At first glance, all is well, but things quickly begin to look a little strange...

Gameplay
In this game soldiers make "Nectar," a drug that Mantel uses to control the minds of the soldiers. When administered, Nectar controls what a soldier sees, it is a hallucinogenic drug. Nectar drowns the thoughts or images of death making the user a better soldier, but without thought or conscious. Nectar also reduces weapon sway and recoil along with allowing the user to see farther away while in scope while in the state of mind the drug applies to the user. The drug enhances and tones every muscle in their body, as well as sharpening their reflexes. It makes super soldiers that have no thought, and don't hesitate to take lives.

Plot
The game begins as Sergeant Shane Carpenter, a veteran Mantel solider where Mantel recruited him while he was in college. He and his men were then militarized and sent to South America where his team and him were on a mission to eliminate a group of rebels known as the "Promise Hand" which are being accused of ethnic cleansing crimes against humanity by Mantel's mass media empire. Him and squad mates meet up and his commander orders him to take Nectar, in which he refuses. Over a series of missions fighting for Mantel, Shane's Nectar administrator fails to drug him and so he sees what him and his squad were doing to the people of South America. Later, Shane is sent to capture a "war criminal," who was accused by Mantel to be killing civilians and wearing their skin as a long coat, but there are two sides to every war, and this is where Shane realizes that he is on the wrong side, because the "war criminal" is only a business owner that didn't agree to pack up shop and leave for Mantel's purposes. Therefore, and from here on out, Shane is fighting with the "Promise Hands" against Mantel and it's drug abusing soldiers.

Story
The story within this game is amazing. It is somewhat in the future, but not so far out there that it isn't believable. You also get the feeling of being a once super powered soldier, that is now fully aware of what is actually going on and willingly gives up his super powered drug, to fight for the people and the side that is right. The game takes a huge turn for the better quickly, like I said above, you are first killing "bad guys" that later end up being dead civilians when Shane's drug wears off and then he switches sides after being saved by the "Promise Hand" and told the truth by them, unlike the war propaganda told to him and his men by Mantel.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are actually pretty nice. They are really futuristic and the character and nature detail they put into this game is quite impressive to say the least. They even put hexagonal detail of Nectar remnants within your helmet when you are playing on the side for Mantel. They really put a lot of time and effort into making this game look as good as they possibly could.

Controls
The controls for this game are pretty easy to use and take after most other FPS games. The basic same control layout, and the same basic buttons for firing your weapon and meleeing your enemies. The controls are very easy to use if you have played any other FPS games or anything along those lines.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer within this game is really lacking, they use the same game modes as EVERY other FPS game... Team deathmatch, free for all, etc and they bring nothing special to the table in the multiplayer portion of this game. Also, when this game was released apparently a lot of people thought the way I did, because they actually pulled the multiplayer for this game and shut down the servers for a while and I think they eventually removed it for good.

Ratings
Gameplay - 8/10
Plot - 9.5/10
Story - 8.5/10
Controls - 7.5/10
Graphics - 9/10
Multiplayer- 5/10
Overall - 7/10

Personal Note:This game is actually really fun and entertaining story line wise. And it brings a new gaming experience to the table in the fact that there is a game with drug abusing super soldiers from the future that are basically like a business instead of an army. It shows the players the limelight and disaffect of drugs and what not. It really is a thrilling game, and well worth a try.

Nice review and well written. I recommend not using the Yellow font. Hard to see.
