Gameplay
Terminator Salvation is a futuristic third person shooter where the player get to take over as John Connor, a war hero in the war against Man vs. machine (soldiers vs. Skynet) The entire campaign can be played alone or cooperatively , if the co-op choice is made, your friend takes over the roll of Blair Williams. The game employs a cover and movement system unlike those featured in Gears of War, where the player can quickly choose to dodge between different cover areas, coming out only to fire shots at enemies. Staying in cover is advantageous, especially when the game is played on higher difficulty levels and what not. The player regenerates health when you have kept out of harms way for a certain period of time. From the start you get your hands on an M4, but are later able to find and use new weapons like the Remington 870, RPG, and M249 SAW. There are various areas, weapons, vehicles, enemies, and grenades scattered throughout this game.

Plot
The plot takes place as the movie does, seeing as this game somewhat modeled from the movie. You play as John Connor, a hero of the Skynet war that is taking place in the future. John and his friend, Blair are caught in a fire fight with a few other soldiers pitted up against a Hunter-Killer aircraft. John and his team manage to destroy the aircraft, but the a T-600 appears from it's wreckage and kills a member of his team. The team then travels underground to escape the T-600, the surving trio reach the exavuation point, where again they meet Skynet forces in which they have to deal with before safely evacuating. They later decide together that the other soldiers have been wounded in battle and have served well enough for a ticket home, so they put them on the chopper and stay behind to cover their escape. All throughout the story of the game you and your partner are trying to figure out a way to win the war, and keep as many soldiers alive as you possibly can in the process.

Story
The story within this game is just as the movie portrays it to be. The terminators are from the future, where Connor succeeded in destroying Skynet, so SKynet automated T-600's to be sent back in time to kill Connor before he can have the chance to destroy them again, and for good this time. It is a thrilling game to play, and keeps close ties to the movie as previously said, so if you enjoyed the movie, you will enjoy the game so to speak. This game is probably the most fun and realest Terminator game to ever have been released. They keep it close to the movie's story, all without ruining the fun factor of the game.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are actually a little lacking for a game that is supposed to take place in the future. Earth is war struck from having drones and robots destroy EVERYTHING looking for Connor, but at the same time as everything being gritty and dirty, the graphics feel a bit lacking to me. Not to say that they are bad or anything, but they aren't as good as they could have been in my own opinion. That being said, they made the Terminators look JUST like they look in the movies, and it is actually kind of scary to see them in game, makes you feel as if you really are John Connor fighting off mindless killing machines.

Controls
The controls within this game are the same as most every third person shooter. Typical shooting controls and typical cover controls. Nothing special in the controls department, but no complaints either. The controls are solid through and through, and there are a lot of abilities to customize your gaming experience within the controls portion. However, I think that the default setting will work for most anyone, and is very easy to learn and use.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer within this game is lacking, by a lot. There is co-op which is fun, but the online experience of this game was not their intended play area, and you can tell just by playing the online portion once. They use typical third person shooter game modes such as free for all and team death match, but that takes away from the experience of the war against Terminators. There are no game modes where teams take the war to the Terminators and fight against AI Terminators, which killed the enjoyment of the online experience for me anyways. Still fun, but not in the way that the campaign is, to me at least.

Ratings
Gameplay - 8/10
Plot - 9.5/10
Story - 9/10
Controls - 8/10
Graphics - 6.5/10
Overall - 8/10

Personal Note:This game is the most fun Termintor remake I've ever played. This is also probably the best movie game as well, they did a great job keeping this game close to the movies story-line. It doesn't have a lot of replay value, but it is a lot of fun the first go around, especially if you have a friend to play with.
