Synopsis
The Wolf Among Us is set in the year 1986, decades before the events of the first issue of Fables. For years, many of the magical and mystical lands described in myth, legend, and folklore (known colloquially as "the homelands") have been occupied by an enigmatic tyrant known only as the Adversary. To escape the Adversary's marauding armies and totalitarian regime many creatures and characters known as "fables" fled to the mundane world and created an enclave known as Fabletown in colonial America, now located in modern-day Manhattan. To mask their presence from the native humans (referred to as "mundies") all non-human fables have to purchase an enchantment known as a "glamour" which allows them to appear human, or be relocated to a rural community known as "The Farm". The reformed Big Bad Wolf, Bigby Wolf (voiced by Adam Harrington), is the sheriff of Fabletown and is responsible for hiding the community from the wider world and enforcing its laws.

Gameplay
The gameplay aspect of this game is actually quite original. You play as a character known as Bigby Wolf. (aka The Big Bad Wolf) There are decisions to make while playing through the campaign/story-line of the game, and the choices you make effect the outcome of certain portions of the game. Also, the choices you make are recorded, and when you beat an episode, it shows you on a percentage what other players chose in their story-lines. There are quick-time events where you must tap on the screen in rapid succession, events where you have to swipe to dodge, and events where you must quickly chose a response to someone to either start or stop a fight. This game is so different from other games, and Taletell using fables from your childhood, in a different lime light is a nice change of pace and the story-line thus far is amazing in my own opinion.

Plot
Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown and the character that you play as has been dropped into the city with a series of murders that have to be solved. With the help of many other fables such as Snow White, Ichabod Crane, and many others not mentioned, they all help/hurt Bigby on his journey to find the killer(s)! (characters change and have feelings about you depending on your in game choices) The characters within Fabletown have been living there for centuries now, and they've been living like this until recently, in relative peace, thanks to Bigby Wolf. The characters within this game use something referred to as "glamour" to hide their true storybook form from other fables, but mostly for humans and things along that line of nature.

Story
The story-line to this game is absolutely amazing and stunning. You are basically reliving your childhood through fables you were told as a child, but in a somewhat realistic view, rather than JUST a made up story. The whole story-line revolves around fables and the sheriff you play as, Bigby. It starts out by dropping Bigby into a hostile situation and doesn't really lose any amount of action from start to finish. Even though you only play as Bigby, you meet a lot of other fables some of which you will fall in love with, and others that you can't wait to have the option to fight them. It really draws you into the story and gets you involved not only physically, but emotionally as well. This is by far the best mobile game that I have ever played to this date.

Graphics
From a graphical standpoint, this game could look a little better. But, in my own opinion, I think that Taletell Games wanted to design their game in a gritty, drawn fashion. The graphics fit with the feel of this game. But, they don't have as much character or area detail that I think they could have put into the game. Voices within the game do sync nicely, and shadows and dark areas of the game aren't too dark and are easily distinguished. All of that being said, it still has impressive graphics for a mobile game and look and fit with the feel of this game.

Controls
The controls for this game are pretty self explanatory. It's a click and move type of game, on iOS anyways. Which means you click an area of the screen or an object within the game and your character will move to that portion of the screen/game. That being said, the controls being so sumple, are really easy to get used to and fit with the feel of the game. All the controls, (few that there are) flow smoothly together. Also, when in fight scenarios within the game you have to slide your finger a certain direction to dodge or to fight back, but again, they flow nicely in this game.

Ratings
Gameplay - 9.5/10
Plot - 10/10
Story - 10/10
Controls - 9/10
Graphics - 7.5/10
Overall - 9.5/10

Personal Note: This is my favorite mobile game that I have ever played and is actually on my top 10 great games of all time! Seriously a great game.

Fantastic review AR15!

Thoroughly enjoyable to read. I'm wanting to get this game as I'm a fan of Telltale and loved TWD games they made.

Nice review, I played some of the chapters of the first episode on the 360 but couldn't get into this game. Big fan of Telltales Walking Dead game but this game I just don't understand so I'm probably not going to get the other episodes.
