I'm new to Xbox 360 modding, just wondering if save game editors will work for online save files? If so, what games would this work on, and what are the chances of getting banned? Sorry for the newbie question.

It depends on the game but more often than not mods will not work online.

What game is it that your looking to mod online?

I don't really have any specific games in mind, I'm talking about modding online game saves as a whole. But thank you, I kind of figured most games wouldn't work.
