Synopsis
Don Bradman Cricket 14 is a cricket video game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. It was developed by Big Ant Studios and published by Tru Blu Entertainment. The official trailer was launched on 29 November 2013. The game was released for the PS3 & Xbox 360 on the 3rd of April 2014 in Australia & New Zealand, the 4th of April in South Africa and the UK release date is the 11th of April. The PC release will follow two months later.

Gameplay
The gameplay here is really good, they have made significant improvements to both the bowling and the batting. It can be daunting at first but when you get the hang of it, it becomes easily the best thing about the game. The deliveries feel smooth and the batting gameplay is really refined and realistic unlike other more arcade style cricket games. It definitely takes a while to get to grips with the gameplay but it is inifnitely more rewarding because of this challenge when you get to grips with it. The bowling is also very good and you have a wide selection of deliveries to choose from like, yorkers and you need to choose your delivery style i.e. fast bowling or spin, this becomes easier with practise and so does directing the ball, it is really satisfying when you pitch a yorker off stump and it takes an edge and is caught at slip. There is a great selection of grounds and gamemodes to play like twentytwenty, odi, and test cricket this means that the gameplay is nice and varied and you don't become bored quickly. The nets is also a very nice addition and is a good place to just practise your shots and bowling, this is especially good for the new players. It is also worth saying that the ball physics feel really good. You can create your own player to use im matches as well, this is a really good feature.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer for this game is quite basic but is enjoyable nonetheless. You have the same number of modes and grounds in which you can play cricket both online and locally. The gameplay is exactly the same except you're not playing against the computer you are playing against a person. A great new feature they have added into this multiplayer is the ability to pause online matches, and resume them at a later date. This feature is really good and well thought out as the test matches can go on for a long time and the person you are playing with or yourself might be quite busy and have something else to do this means you can hop right back in at a later time whenever is convenient without having to start a whole game again. It would've been nice to see them add some extra features into the online but overall it is pretty decent, it's fun playing with friends and there are a number of variables like teams to choose so you don't get bored by it too easily.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are actually quite good, the players look really good and you can tell a lot of work has gone in to making them detailed and as real looking as their actual real counterparts. The grounds look nice and are comparable to how they look in real life as the grounds are from professional cricket grounds around the world. The lighting is superb and really makes the graphics feel good. The wear on the pitch is also noticeable and adds a nice touch of realism to the game, the textures are good and there is no problem with the rendering distance. The scenery is not as good as the other parts and the crowd look very generic I'm guessing they spent time focusing on more important aspects though. The in game replays are also very detailed and good looking I will add some screenshots below for you to look at.

CONTROLS
The controls for this game are a bit weird to be honest. They are a little bit strange to get used to at first in regards to batting and bowling but when you get the hang of them you realise that it is actually the best way for them to be as you have a real freedom in the way you play. I would recommend giving it a few hours on the default settings and you should be really fine with them. There is a few settings you can muddle with in the menus but I personally would leave it how they are and you will be fine. The button layout is really good and gives you good flexibility in performing all different kinds of shots at high speeds which is very useful when you have a cricket ball zooming at you at 90mph. The controls for this game are really good to be fair.

Might purchase this game after reading the review and you've given it 8/10

I remember games like Brian Lara 2008!
