Synopsis
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is an action-adventure third-person shooter platform game, the third game in the Uncharted series, developed by Naughty Dog, with a story written by script-writer Amy Hennig. It is the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed video games of 2009, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The game was released by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, in North America on November 1, 2011, Europe on November 2, 2011, and Australia on November 3, 2011. A Game of the Year Edition, containing all additional content that was a part of the Fortune Hunters' Club deal, was released on September 19, 2012, for Europe.
Uncharted 3 sees protagonist Nathan Drake and mentor Victor Sullivan travelling around the world to places such as the Rub' al Khali desert, in search of the legendary lost city the Iram of the Pillars, which is mentioned in the Quran. Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer also return in Uncharted 3. The plot draws from the archaeology days of T. E. Lawrence. Arne Meyer, Naughty Dog's community strategist stated that the "main theme of Uncharted 3 is 'finding the way'.
Uncharted 3 received critical acclaim, averaging 92% on review aggregate website Metacritic and 91.76% on GameRankings, making it one of the best reviewed video games of 2011. It won several "Game of the Year" awards, with reviewers praising the writing, voice acting, graphics, cinematic quality and story. The game shipped 3.8 million copies worldwide on launch day.

Gameplay
Uncharted 3 is a adventure platform game and a third person shooter. There is a mix of both combat, platforming and puzzles, this varied gameplay means that you don't get bored and the combination of these 3 different types of gameplay are amazing at keeping the game fresh and balanced. The combat is really good and there is a large variety of weapons to use, the cover system is fantastic and works really well again in this game similar to its predecessors. The game also has the ability to be played in a stealth manner if Drake is undetected. The climbing sequences are particularly good and are super fun to do, quick time events are also very good. The gameplay to this takes all the positives of its predecessors and makes them even better while adding even more, it is completely amazing and will leave you wanting more when you have finished the game.

Story
The story here can be considered as more serious than its predecessors and really portrays Drake's emotions and motives really well. The story revolves around a city of incredible wealth and the people trying to find it. Drake is out to stop this city being discovered by the wrong people who only want to exploit it for their own greed. They set the tone with playing on emotions from the last game and questioning whether Drake should be doing what he is doing, it really hits home with the player as the relate to his past experiences as they have played through them. There are some great twists and you will become involved heavily with the storyline. I don't want to spoil anything but I can say the ending is fantastic and so if the rest of the story, it will leave you wanting more and really gets under your skin emotion wise. Superb.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer is very good, the ranking system is fantastic and the maps are brilliant. The best mode is team deathmatch as there is a good variety of weapons to use and the maps are just incredible to play on. There is also other good game modes and co-op modes similar to Uncharted 2. However there are some very good improvements on its predecessors, notably the improvements for the losing team making the game more competitive and well balanced. There is also great character customization with loads of settings to change so you can be really unique. The multiplayer is really good and is amazing to play with friends.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are simply superb, from the pristine whites of glaciers to the deep greens of the jungle they have really gone to town on this game. I have nothing but praise for the graphics, the players look amazing and so detailed (you can really tell just how much effort has gone into this game and it's incredible)and everything just looks fantastic, one of the best looking games of its generation. The lighting and shadows are just phenomenal and really set the tone for the game (they are used in many different ways to provoke emotions and set the scene for any particular bit in the game). The colours are very good and realistic, just wonderful. The amount of detail on everything is just incredible you can see creases in Drake's shirt and mud on it too. I have attached some screenshots below so please check them out and see for yourself.

CONTROLS
The controls are superb and you will have no problem with them. There are a number of settings you can switch in the menus if you wish but they are perfect anyway so I don't know why you'd want to. The button assignment is very good as well and it works really during the climbing parts which can normally be hard depending on the camera angle. The controls feel very smooth and you can aim easily during gunplay. They are a pleasure to use.
