Synopsis
Project Gotham Racing 4 is the fourth title in the main Project Gotham Racing series, developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Microsoft Game Studios.

Gameplay
This game features more cars, more tracks and more locations that its predecessor, this means the gameplay is very dynamic and makes it extremely fun to play as it doesn't really get repetitive. The core gameplay remains similar to PGR 3 and typical of the genre but they have made several improvements over PGR 3. For example they have overhauled the weather system making the cars respond differently and look differently depending on whether it is raining or overcast etc. It also effects the car physics in game. They game feels a lot smoother and less clunky than PGR 3 and the new amount of vehicles and upgrades make the driving feel less arcade style and more like a hybrid between the driving sim and arcade driving worlds it really is the best of both worlds. The new tracks are fantastic to race on the Shanghai one is particularly exhilarating to race on. The main game on single player allows you to go through different tournaments and rise in the ranks of the racing world. Another great feature is the inclusion of motorbikes to the racing game, this really makes the game fresh and fun to play. Overall the gameplay is fantastic.

Multiplayer
The multiplayer takes what it was in PGR 3 and overhauls it with a new engine and new game modes. The normal modes feature and the massive amount of cars and tracks makes it great fun to play with your friends locally and online. The races are really good to play with friends and strangers and you will often find yourself getting carried away in the emotion of the game. One of the nicest additions came by way of downloadable content that was free. Tourist mode is a gamemode where you and a friend can free roam a city, this is really cool as you and your friend can explore and even set up your own drag style races, that's what I ended up doing and the result was great fun!

Graphics
The graphics are notably improved from PGR 3. The game looks sharper, the colours look bolder and more defined. The lighting and the new weather system breath a new life into this game. Driving in all kinds of different weathers is really appealing and they have made it look really good, the rain looks realistic and they have done a fantastic job on the greys for when it is overcast. The lighting and shadows are also really good again and just give the game that extra feel of realism if you know what I mean. The cars look extremely detailed (you can see all the imperfections after you've been racing a while)and the damage physics are really good. The different tracks all have their own unique visual appeal and are all done very well. Check out the screenshots in the spoilers below.

CONTROLS
The controls are superb and the ability to change them in the menu to suit your playstyle and ability level is fantastic as it can make the game more challenging for those who want a difficult game with high rewards. (Manual for more experienced players and automatic/semi automatic for less experienced players). There is no problems with the controls on this game. They feel more smoother and responsive that its predecessors.
